    Never seen the show. Hard to believe it tops showtimes Dexter though or Breaking Bad for that matter... or Californication...

    If someone's just started watching the show it'd have being a spoiler for them :verysad

    I only finished watching the last series late last year so every chance someone posting on this thread could have just started watching the show.

    :think Is it better than those other HBO shows.. True Blood, Oz and Deadwood..? Didn't exactly live up to the hype each of them recieves

    Deadwood was great while it lasted, but The Wire is better. And it wasn't ****ing cancelled. Stupid ass HBO. :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

    Hmm, I might just have to give it a chance. Getting beyond bored of all those crime series.. same over and over and over again.

    i loved deadwood
    while revalidating from ACL surgery i watched all 3 seasons
    why did HBO cancel it?not enough viewers?

    Too expensive. They cancelled the last freaking season. All the equipment was there with whole freaking Deadwood built from scratch! Oh well, at least The Wire saw the end, but they crippled the last season. :patsch Hope boxing survives.

    I never got too into the wire. I did like oz, I liked the first few seasons of dexter but its kinda unraveling, loved the shield, but maybe ill give wire a go. I heard there's a new series out that's really good n funny too, can't think of the name right now.

    have every season of the shield on dvd,one of my favourite series ever
    a great mix of a good storyline and constant raw action
    those armenian and especially mexican gangs were badass
    the moment Dutch killed that cat i thaught he was on his way to become a serial killer
