**** Kirk's ESB Championships 2011 ****

Well, the boards seem to be back to normal speed again.... were really bad there for a bit so didnt get on as I normally would sunday morning.

First off, what a fight between Arce and Vasquez Jr!

I gotta feel for Jr, he learning on the job and he has shown a lot of passion, lot of heart, and a lot of will and desire, hopefully he can bounce back from this and continue to get better. But, at the same time, you gotta feel happy for a guy like Arce.

He didnt pack it in even when many people had given up on his ability to still go at it on the championship level. And then, in the fight, he showed up ready, and willing, for war. They gave the fans a treat and Arce had a bit too much that night for Vasquez... much props and respect to Arce :good


Now, Pac vs Mosley.

I will say that me personally, I felt that Pac didnt quite look like the machine that Im used to seeing. He didnt look quite as sharp or as fast, maybe thats just me, but he was still good, and I have to admitt I did not expect to see him put shane on the canvas with one punch. When that happened I was a bit stunned....

But after that, the fight became a bit of a letdown to me. Shane went into FULL survival mode.... and in parts, actually running from Pac. It was just frustrating to watch, and also sad in a way. I dont dislike Mosley, and to see him retreat the entire fight like that, in front of his woman and kids and all that, sucked to see. I would have rather him went out like a warrior and instead of getting booed, he would be getting cheered. But, aye, its not me in there with Pac..... and I understand that.

I dont hold anything in the fight against Pac, I wish he would have jumped on Mosley a little bit more in certain times, but I also understand that a lil guy like Pac cant just start going crazy on a guy who can put you on ***** street at any time, so hopefully it was just pac trying to stick to a gameplan. The 'knockdown' that wasnt a knockdown kinda woke pac up a bit and that was the pac that I wish would have shown up a few rounds earlier. I think he could have maybe gotten a stoppage had he upped his intensity a few rounds earlier.

Pac has the unfortunate ability to force him opponents into eather, complete retreat, or into a shell (cotto (retreat), clottey (shell), mosley (retreat) (which also makes the fact that margarito never stopped coming that much more impressive, though I guess he paid for that.... he still is not cleared to fight)

the downside to that ability is it makes some of his fights a bit more tame then they would normally be. People start just trying to survive in there.

Anyways.... I really, really, hope that Mayweather, for whatever reason, thinks that he sees some slippage in Pac and gets the fight going already. But, I wont be holding my breath.
