Robneys Picks Golovkin TKO What will happen if you put a huge, huge puncher in the ring with one of the toughest guys in the trade??? This has "fun" and "war" written all over it. Ouma has been stopped once (in the 1st, 99) in his careeer, but that's hard to take that loss seriously nowadays. Since then he has fought (and sometimes even beat) some real badasses and has never been stopped since. That and the fact that Gennady seems to be suffering from the "McClellan curse" not beïng able to carry his power beyond the 5th or 6th round, seem to point towards a jury decision. Still going for the TKO though... I have a lot of fate in Golovkin, and want to seem him sqaure it off with Mr. Martinez (whoohoo!) or JCC jr (malicious pleasure). Moreno SD Not an easy bout to call. Former Flyweight champ Parra has seen it all before, and has been in there with a couple of big names already and I actually think he's slightly better as Moreno. But I'm going for the defending champ, cause he's the "winner type". He has been in a couple of very difficult fights, and every time he finds a way to pull it out of the fire. Moreno by Split/Majority Decision. (note to self: bet on the draw) BREWER TKO! I can't pick Guerrero in any fight in wich his opponent has a pulse (even when he's 40!!!), I just can't! It's like I'm brainwashed or something, the name Guerrero just triggers something in my brain that just screams NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Problem was when I had to pick the winner between Michael Katsidis and ROBERT Guerrero a couple of months ago, the trigger also did his job and I couldn't pick "the Ghost" in that bout (wich he clearly won of course). In short, the fights I've seen from this overhyped LMW made me allergic to the Guerrero name and now he's fighting an old but live body (don't look at his record and age) who's only 2 losses in the last 7 years are to Lara and Rubio (!!!) I have to pick Brewer. Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO, Brewer by TKO! (Just to make it clear) Brewer by TKO! Murray UD I don't have much to say about this one, it's snowed under in all this violence of the other bouts. Summage: Murray is too experinced for Blackwell at this stage of his career and I don't believe he can hurt Murray. Easy UD and maybe a stoppage Barros UD O man, o man... What a weekend we have here! Another brilliant matchup to look forward to. A year ago I would have blindly picked the former "most avoided boxer" in the world, but now I'm not so sure anymore. The Litzau fight came as a shock, and showed what a big diffence a couple of pounds can mean in the lower weightclasses. Or did he just eat some bad shrimp, had a bad night sleep or did he join Ricky Hatton in one of his parties? We probably never know. What I do know is that Barros is the real deal, and I'm picking "safe" on this one. Home avantage and some doubts about Caballero make me pick JVB, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Celestino gives Jonathan fits. This fight is gonna be great! Alvarez TKO A lot of people here see "Soulless" Saul Alvarez as another JCC jr... An overhyped Mexican who will crumble as soon as he faces A (or maybe even B) class opposition. I'm virtually alone here thinking this guy is for real. Of course he's not as good as he's hyped to be, but let's face it... Who is? Ryan is a real tough guy, and I'm certain he will give Canelo some trouble. I expect him to be stopped late though, and might it come to a decision... NO WAY ALVAREZ IS GOING TO LOSE THAT! I'm starting to believe all these fights are made because of my comeback here, this weekend is great! Litzau UD Is it a coincidence Caballero and Litzau are fighting on the same day, after their last fight against eachother? Strange thing... The winner (Jason) is fighting for a national title, while the loser (Caballero) is fighting for a world title... Boxing is a strange sport. Now the question is; "How good is that Broner guy actually?". Well, pretty good I guess... He beat Ponce (just) in his last bout and that's no small feat either. But here's the catch... THIS FIGHT IS HELD IN MEXICO, so Broner will LOSE!
It's been great, with my current status I can walk into any restaurant without making a prior reservation, the kids in class have a new found respect for me, all is well. Well over in the real world my weekend was good, the price-dallas fight was a great knockout, the edwards at flyweight put on a tremendous battle, shaun derry is back and I consumed half a bottle of whiskey before finishing the weekend with a saw trilogy How was the drill, or whatever it is you do lol
Kirk, ask Robney I want to make another bet with him. I take Guerrero, he takes Brewer 40 bucks (or 80 bucks and we scrap the Broner-Litzau fight). and/or I take Broner and he takes Litzau for 40 bucks.
Ok by my reckoning I should now have 55 dollars - I picked froch by decision and got 25 for being champ. I'm willing to throw it all on rhodes by ko! *non title match but i'll bet my dollars*
It's on! I'll show you why i'm the teacher and you're the pupil once i've educated your sorry arse! *perhaps i'm going a bit to far with the trash talk but it humours me and i've had no complaints yet!*
:good It's all good. That made me chuckle. Sorry teach, but, I'll never let a teacher beat me! By the way, just so we are crystal clear. I've got Canelo and you have Rhodes right?
Haha well i'm sorry to say this but "schooling" people is literally my day job :yep:yep That's right I have the shefield man. I know canelo is a betting favourite but this is a huge step up for him, make no mistake. Rhodes is rightfully ranked higher, he's bigger, more experienced and has demonstrated more during his career. That, my friend, is your revision lesson in preparation for this weekends exam, cost of tuition = $55"
Not a bad idea m'man, Im going to be doing some re-arranging of the p4p criteria and whatnot, and clarifying some rules after the update, I will think about this idea too :good
