As good as Guerrero and Martinez is, I think Donnie Nietes and Ramon Garcia Hirales is better on paper from a skill set point of view. These two are very good, very talented fighters and both are quite mirror images of each other in terms of their record. Both suffered loss(es) and draw(s) early in their careers, but both have bounced back and have become champions. Starting off with Donnie Nietes he is moving up in weight from 105 to 108 to take on Hirales, but for quite a bit Nietes was a 105 champion and beat a lot of notable names Pornsawan Porpramook, and even going to Mexico to defense against Erik Ramirez and Manuel Vargas. Clearly dominating and winning those fights. Hirales just recently won a world title strap beating Jesus Geles in a rematch and stopping him in 4. Early in the year he fought Geles in Geles' hometown, but lost via SD. It was a close fight, but Geles got the nod. Hirales has also, beat notable fighters such as Manuel Vargas and Erik Ramirez. As well as Omar Soto, and Johnriel Casimero. So, record and resume wise these two are a lot alike. Now, skill set wise Donnie Nietes is quite quick and very powerful. He has really good power, nice tight boxer, doesn't make a lot of mistakes, good foot work. He is a very talented boxer. Ramon Garcia Hirales is a nice tight boxer as well. Doesn't make many mistakes, when he throws a left hand he does get a bit wide with it. Nietes could potentially catch him with a shot. I think Hirales will need to boxing on his toes, Nietes will more a less be pressing the action and it will be a very intense fight for however long it lasts. This is a real toss up fight as well, and the tiebreaker goes to Nietes. He is fighting at home, the champion, Garcia Hirales is on the road trying to upset the apple cart, but I think Nietes will win by decision at home. Both really are good fighters and I can't wait for this fight.
Nice breakdown again DD :good This is the only bout we aren't completely in agreement with (and I think Sukhotski stops Mohammedi), cause I expect Martinez to edge Rodrigo again. :thumbsup
Yup. You wanna combine the two scores together ? It's not like I'm gonna be able to enter the other acc for 2 years.
Just letting the sister thread know that we at the Guess This Movie Still Beeyatch Thread overtook the Tambayan becoming the sole rulers of the Lounge. Hoping the same for Kirk's Championship, the unofficial best thread ever of the General, and we know that by it not getting stickied, of course by those who do that other thing.
