Interesting idea :think However, as others have pointed out, it would simply increase cherry picking, trust me. I do kinda like the idea of it though.... retiring and starting over and whatnot. maybe I could find another way to implement the whole retirment and restart thing, idk.... Ill have to think on it. As for how the records get weighed.... I have found this way to be the fairest, because lets use your example of 24-0 vs 36-10 While ya, one has 10 more losses, he has also picked on 22 more fights then the undefeated guy. So hes picked 22 more fights, and registered 12 more wins then the person thats undefeated. The more fights you pick on, the more you are going to lose, its just that simple. Robberies, genuine upsets, or simply wrong analysis of a fight, makes it so that the people who pick more fights have more losses.... I dont want to reward those (like myself, I know I have a lot of losses now but early on in the years Im usually undefeated for quite awhile because I only pick on mainstream fights) Im not going to rank myself higher then someone else who has picked over 20 fights more then me, and while has more losses then I do, also has more wins then they do losses over me because they have picked more fights (in this case, if I was 24-0, he would have 10 more losses then me, but he would have 12 more wins, making him above me by the difference... 2. Ugh, kinda made that a bit complicated but... for the most part Ive come to prefer the way the rankings are. I do understand how it looks 'off' though having someone with 50 losses and whatnot ahead of you, but when taking into account that theyve picked on close to 200 more fights total, it makes sense. I do understand what youre saying though Thanks for the ideas Beastside.... :good
I hate the fact that the guys who makes all the picks are the ones who have all the advantage. I mean from time to time you should be thinking should I or shouldn't I make that pick.I mean I like games that creates a real life scenario. In boxing you don't go head first in every fight that lands on your table, there's no top10 fighter with 50+ losses, there are ATG with 179-19 or 150-21 and great fighters with records of 83-19 or 108-30 but even those guys can't stay #1 all the time just because they have more wins, the shape of the moment, the undefeated run etc. , should count for something to.You should be able to have some kind of chance of challenging the champ of fighting in a eliminator even tho you don't have the exact same nr of wins as the champion.
just discovered this you all probably know this channel but for those who don't know explozive900 check it out some great vids http://www.youtube.com/user/explozive900#p/u/16/6YL2Y_Hq1mk http://www.youtube.com/user/explozive900#p/u/21/3tJD9Ql3Bak http://www.youtube.com/user/explozive900#p/u/11/N-O0eTcR0Io
Understand what you say but if people only would bet on the fights they are sure about a lot of people would have outstanding records and 30 or 35 people would right now still be going for the title. Look at my v-cash,often I only bet on the heavy favourite and minimize the risks. Does that make me the best fight picker?Hell no because in Kirk's championship there are 8 people above me and i regularly get my ass kicked in individual bettings for Kirk' Dollars in this league.
Nah man I hear you, I know where you're coming from... but the rankings will most likely stay how they are. all I can say is that next year, for people that don't pick as many fights there will be Peoples championship Pound for pound title Head to head records Tournaments
But for the main title, I just don't see another way id like to have it and still remain somewhat balanced n fair. So its gonna stay the same. I do like that idea of things like undefeated streaks being rewarded and ill probably find a way to implement that into the p4p rankings or earning money.
"Wow" I thought someone would have jumped all over this....Who ever wants this bet gets Tyson Marquez.
Alright, gonna do the update, BigBone Ill try to find the difference :good It probably is that pick you quoted.
