Put it this way: by British standards it was a very, very late stoppage. :yep By the rest of the world's, slightly early.

As Max said, it looks early in hindsight given that McEwan instantly recovered from the shots so well but you can totally see where the ref was coming from with how hard they bounced off his undefended face.
