Well said. Thank God real boxing fans are giving Peterson credit where credit is due. Peterson fought the fight of his life, and because he did everything he could, it just happened to pay off. I felt once the decision was announced too many would put too much emphasis on the point deductions. Sure we can argue all day about the deductions, but what can't be argued is the fact that both fighters fought their hearts out. Congrats to Peterson on the win. Both fighters gave a great fight that I wont soon forget. Respect.
And with Brian Viloria winning against Segura...Viloria should be getting some real hard looks for Fighter of The Year. He was an underdog in both of his fights, and beat two, very good, world champions. And a lot of people had Segura in the top 10 P4P, again, I thought that was premature, but hey that's just me. Viloria beat a top 10 P4P fighter and a very good, powerful world champion in Julio Cesar Miranda. He definitely should be a major candidate for Fighter of The Year. Also, surely now Freddie Roach can't be getting any Trainer of The Year awards now, right? He's lost three big fights now. Linares lost, Pacquiao lost, and now Khan. If there was any doubt now, surely, there isn't anymore. It has to go to Robert Garcia.
I'm not necessarily against Brian as F'erOTY, but Pingo was top 10 p4p? :huh edit: n/m, I misread this sentence. "Viloria beat a top 10 P4P fighter and a very good, powerful world champion in Julio Cesar Miranda." Now I understand after re-reading. Segura was the top 10 p4p guy, and Miranda was the very good powerful world champ. The way the sentence read it seemed like it was all one long description of the latter. Nevermind. :good
With all the upsets this weekend I did HORRIBLE. BTW Badlok are you glad I convinced you to pick Mitchell now?
Man... I was not expecting that Peterson fought his ass off though. I give Khan props, he took a lot of hard, flush shots, he has a lot of heart and he can take a punch these days. That being said, hes just not a very smart fighter. Im starting to wonder whats going on at wildcard, figured Roach would have his guys a little more polished then he has recently. anyways, I missed the seth fight, if anyone finds a video of it feel free to post it. Im rooting for seth to take over the division. Alright all Im heading to bed... hope everyone had a good evening
And there goes my last chance for the title. I just did not see the upsets - the upsets making me champ - coming. Had Khan winning though, I mean on my card. Which, based on the responses, an exception? :think Pretty rough hangover I'm having but will catch up with the rest. Seems like another great weekend, and one with some heated discussions.
