**** Kirk's ESB Championships 2011 ****

What a fight last night....

It was one of those fights for me where I wanted both guys to win, so when one would be doing good, Id be yelling at the other to do this, or do that

However, Ward showed why he is one of the smartest and well rounded fighters in the sport today. Every time I see Ward fight I am impressed.... inside fighting, outside fighting, going foward, going back.... I really believe he is one of the most skilled operators in the sport. He went up with one of the best fighters in the division and pitched a near shutout (imo)

Froch did his best, as always, for the tools he has. Boxing would be better off if everyone had the intangebles that Froch has that has gotten him to this point. Hes one of the fighters that when I watch him... I shake my head and say 'This guy has every reason to just be a journeymen level fighter..... and yet he finds that something he needs inside himself to elivate him over much more talented opposition, and made him one of the best 168lbers in the world.

And the sportsmanship after the fight did boxing, and these two warriors proud, and was fitting for the super six final. With Froch being honest and humble in defeat, and Ward being gracious in victory.

"They are all great, I just try to be a little bit better the night of the fight"

My hats off to both these warriors and the fight they produced, congrats to Ward on his awesome victory and to Froch as well.

 

So Bhop and Bute were at the fight, I think there are plenty of matchups with Froch, Ward, Hopkins and Bute that are appealing..... you can match any of those names up with eachother and they are all good fights.

However, I gotta admit that I have soured on Bhop recently.... for as many times as he pulls out awesome nights like he did against Pacal, he just as much ruins what would be good nights of boxing. Fans wait in anticipation months for said fight, only to have hopkins pull some bull**** out of the hat.... fighters train long, hard training camps, to show up and be in a circus. The JC, Roy Jones2 fights were embarresing, and I personally believe he got out of the fight with Dawson, however I obviously cant say for certain and not claiming it as fact, its just what I think.

So I kinda dont want to see him in any more fights unless its with Dawson in a rematch....

But as for Bute, I think what should happen is that Bute fights Froch, and the winner gets Ward. This would give Ward a chance to live in his victory for a bit, and also would make Bute have to earn his shot by beating a top fighter, which is one big thing his critics bring up. And it would give Froch a chance at Ward again should he win.

I would love if that came about.... I hope Showtime makes it happen.

the way it works is that when your team puts in their picks, those picks get matched against the other teams picks....

2 members of your team have to have different picks on a fight then 2 members of the opposite team, and that produces the fight.

This last week everyone pretty much had the same picks so when that happens not a lot of matchups take place.
