Kittithat improves to 8-0 (4), in by far his biggest step up in class to date. He just turned 19 a couple of months ago. Keep an eye out for this one.

    Round 1

Thaiyen is finding himself matched tough in the early going, as Kisamlu is willing to keep pace with him shot for shot. Thaiyen jabs, he jabs back. Hook for hook. They're throwing and landing at about an even clip, maybe a slight edge to the Indonesian, and with similar snap. Very hard to split. Thaiyen seems a bit less comfortable, so I'll give the nod to Kisamlu for ring generalship as he seems happy to dictate the flow of the exchanges even when Thaiyen is at rest. Thaiyen is snapping Kisamlu's head back with the occasional right cross or counter left hook (both are missing the few jabs they're showing), better than anything Kisamlu has in his arsenal, but Kisamlu is slinging hard shots, affecting Thaiyen even when he rolls his upper body to block them on his arms, or causing Kisamlu to glance about the neck.

    10-9 Kisamlu

    Round 2

Point deducted from Thaiyen, for what is unclear. Kisamlu is setting a hellish pace, digging in with underhanded alternating rips to either side of the sponsor logo on Thaiyen's waistband. Thaiyen is looking very unwilling and fragile here. Kisamlu is forcing exchanges nonstop, occasionally getting clipped with a counter and buzzed but not dissuaded - and Thaiyen never follows up. Kisamlu bombing away up top with raking rights.

    10-8 Kisamlu

    20-17 Kisamlu

Thaiyen in a hole already, having a much worse night than his younger stablemate.

    Round 3

Kisamlu appears to be somewhat punched out, as Thaiyen is able to now take control with a dialed-in 1-2, snapping Kisamlu's head back on repeat. Thaiyen is marching forward confidently, dinging Kisamlu's skull at the end of each arm like a paddle-ball, unworried about the meager offense Kisamlu is able to manage while dipped to one side attempting to dodge, or on the backfoot.

    10-9 Thaiyen

    29-27 Kisamlu

    Round 4

Thaiyen is putting a beating on Kisamlu now, punishing him for his insolence in the first two rounds now that he has sensed that Kisamlu is tired. Kisamlu is just helplessly taking his lumps now, waving his arms but unable to lay a glove with any starch behind it on Thaiyen. Hard body shots by Thaiyen. Jab, looping right, hook combos on the face by Thaiyen. Kisamlu wilting.

10-9 Thaiyen, almost 10-8, edit: never mind, towel in at the end of the round, KO4!

Thaiyen, an ex-WBA flyweight champion formerly known as Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep, extends his winning streak to 15-0 (14) since his loss to Juan Carlos Reveco three years ago - and his overall mark to 49-3 (34), but the competition has been trash. Based on how much success 3-10 Kisamlu had there, it is no mystery as to why Thaiyen seems in no hurry to elevate his level again.

The commentators are referring to Nakoon by his "Satanmuanglek CP Freshmart" cognomen.

    Round 1

Nakoon is laying a long, fluttering southpaw jab on Mirin's forehead. Mirin crouches forward, opting for a submarine approach on the taller Thai boxer, pawing upward with a jab to set up hidden right hands slung high from behind the rear hip, or pivoting slightly to his own left to load up big cranking hooks up top. He catches a piece of Nakoon with his power shots and you can hear how loud they are. What he lacks in guile, Mirin makes up for in power if nothing else. Nakoon boxing intelligently so far, working off the jab and not staying still long enough for Mirin to load up on anything flush nor to get in consecutive touches. Just before the bell Nakoon finds himself in a compromised position sat against the middle rope while Mirin hammers at his guard.

    10-9 Mirin

    Round 2

Nakoon is driving straight lefts into the stomach on the outside. Mirin ignores them and marches in hurriedly, throwing lead uppercuts into the chest and pattering down upon Nakoon's head with hooks to corral him into the ropes before straightening up his knees and lunging high with decapitating hooks standing full-height. Mirin is bossing Nakoon around the ring, even as Nakoon looks to assert his right jab by pushing Mirin's gloves back into his face with it. Nakoon able to sharpshoot a bit at mid-range, scoring down beneath the elbows and up high on the mouth just between the wrists, piercing Mirin's guard. Nakoon is forced to retreat, however, no time to smell the roses or showboat as he seems to want to, as Mirin is spraying uppercuts and roundhouses everywhere. BIG straight right on the nose by Mirin at the bell.

    10-9 Mirin

    20-18 Mirin

Going to be interesting to see the WBC open scoring if this goes past 4 (as none of the previous matches on the card have, thus far) - want to see if Mirin stands to get a fair shake here in Bangkok.
