Nakoon is performing a county fair beanbag toss on the outside, casually lobbing in jab-cross-jab combos at the midsection of Mirin from range while planting his long legs momentarily and then uprooting before Mirin can get close to him. Nakoon doing a better job controlling the distance in this frame. Nakoon doing a paint job on Mirin, tying up inside and wrenching Mirin against the ropes, practically lifting him off his feet, ensnared in Nakoon's wiry arms. Nakoon is able to step around Mirin's attacks, turning him and countering. BIG left cross on the face by Nakoon, shaking Mirin to his core, legs jellied, right at the bell.

Round 4

Nakoon is doubling his southpaw jab against the underside of Mirin's forearms, pinning them in place to his face, then digging low with the long skewering left. Nakoon pulling the puppet strings now, making Mirin dance into whatever position in the ring he wants. Nakoon is getting a smidgen cocky now, lazily putting out a lumpy double jab and not tightening up the gap as he follows with the left - and Mirin catches him asleep at his post with a big shot-put right hand. Nakoon is buzzed but has the wherewithal to skitter across the ring, leaving a trail of quick jabs in his wake to forestall Mirin. Nakoon able to recover and resume busily and confidently boxing outside.

Round 5

Nakoon is still boxing on the outside and pushing his right jab into Mirin's face. Nakoon trying to stand his ground now in the middle of the ring and drive Mirin off with lefts on the body. Mirin is able to catch everything on a high flypaper guard and work the body before Nakoon can retract his arms. Mirin doing a good job on the catch-and-shoot, tagging Nakoon on the chest and jaw with a couple of meaty uppercuts.

Round 6

Nakoon is stymied as Mirin now turns southpaw himself. Mirin is aping a Philly shell, even. This is actually hilarious. Nakoon is just staring at him, agape. Nakoon tries a few jabs but is unsure how to proceed from here. Mirin is circling wide, flicking a pot shot counter half-heartedly at Nakoon every time Nakoon jabs. I'm seriously lmao right now. Mirin giving away the round but winning the event. A few times they come close to having a fiery exchange, but Nakoon is always quick to exit, or to smother Mirin after clapping him with a couple of right hooks on the side of the neck.

Round 7

Nakoon is pawing with a right jab and tapping Mirin on the body with the right hook. Mirin is taking aim high with the can-opener left hook and throwing his full weight behind it, doubling up on it, missing. Nakoon is circling to his right, keeping wide. Nakoon is picking off Mirin's running right hand leads on his own right palm, turning them aside. Light counter flurries by Nakoon, who seems to be handling Mirin almost playfully now, perhaps feeling some of the sting has come off Mirin's shots in the second half. Mirin does seem to be pushing his punches now, generating a lot less torque than before, and having lost some speed. Gone is the switch-hitting faux slickness comedy act of the sixth. He's orthodox, he's gunning hard, and he's tired.

Round 8

Nakoon is tattooing Mirin from outside, repelling his advances with double right jabs or single hooks and/or staying his hand with parries that freeze Mirin's glove in suspended animation and leave him pointed in the wrong direction as Nakoon sidesteps. Nakoon is resetting at will, hunching forward and leaning in to needle Mirin wherever he is with the right jab. Mirin is plodding after Nakoon, throwing big hooks up top but not reaching. Nakoon is able to slip a series of 5 power shots unmolested, with just head movement. Mirin finally connects on a solid right hand at the bell and Nakoon laughs.

Round 9

Mirin down, slip. Wet spot on the canvas as they were circling and Nakoon threw a jab that Mirin blocked with his feet awkwardly crossed. Mirin is bodying up against Nakoon and flipping both gloves up into his stomach. Many of these shots go deeper, into the crotch area, and the ref warns them to separate so he can see where the punches are landing (and admonishes Mirin to keep them a little higher just to be safe). Mirin seems annoyed and frustrated, and keeps flipping up shots on the breadbasket until Nakoon steps away. Mirin now tries big scything shots up top, overreaching and missing as Nakoon prods him with a long right jab.

One thing is clear, Mirin doesn't want to cruise to a decision loss abroad. He was selling out, hellbent for the KO in the 9th.

 

Round 10

Nakoon is weathering the storm as Mirin bashes at him, crossing & folding up his long arms protectively over his face while falling back into a bicycle-seated crouch. Nakoon now comes on, pounding Mirin's guard with several jabs to push him into range for a big left hand. Mirin won't back down, however. Back and forth they go. Big clambering shots up top by Mirin, forcing Nakoon to bend forward, at which point Mirin dusts the back of his neck and clubs with rabbit punches, indiscriminate about legality, just wanting a piece of Nakoon. Mirin stomps furiously across the ring as Nakoon makes a break for it. Nakoon is too tired to even muster a jab on the backfoot now, and Mirin wrestles him into a corner hitting the body. Big hooking combo downstairs by Mirin at the bell.

Nakoon raises his arms with a celebratory grin after the bell to end round 10 - either not realizing this is scheduled for 12 or aware of something I'm not... (commission altered it midway through? ...or shortly before the contest began? WBC ABC title bouts are typically always 12 rounds, though...)
