It seems that 3 times. when they both faced the same opponent, one bro lost, the other won...( 3 cases ) Purity....Byrd....Sanders...BUT has either brother both LOST, or both BEATEN the same guy?? If not, Vitali can either break the trend by winning, so for the first time, they both BEAT the same guy..or he can keep the trend/curse?? by losing :think
AFAIK not in pro boxing but in amateur boxing. Both lost to and beat Alexei Lezin, both have beaten Attila Levin.
Good point, but the first 3 times were 'revenge' type situations where one brother arranged to avenge the other's loss. In the Vitali-Peter fight, it's a different situation, because Vitali needs to go through Peter to get his belt back. I suppose you could think of it a different way. Although Wlad pounded on Peter, his critics say that he didn't beat him convincingly. So, if Vitali manages to beat him thoroughly (by stoppage or lop-sided decision where he is the clear aggressor), then it reinforces the Klitschko superiority over Peter. Also in the first 3 times, the Klitschko victory occured in the 2nd of the two fights. I think having your brother thoroughly brief you on an opponents skills is better preparation than just watching tapes of your opponent. So in the second fight, the avenging Klitschko is thoroughly prepared for the fighter they'll face.
