if you think briggs is going to win, go back and watch his last 2 "WBO" "title" fights.... i think he lost about 20 out of 24 rounds against guys that tyson, lewis, holyfield would have cracked out in 2 rounds ...and no, not a 43 year old holyfield.... briggs claim to fame is running from a 45 year old george foreman for 12 rounds and getting a "majority' 12 rd win. no belts, no nothing...but he likes to call it a "linear title" if the guy doesnt have 12 losses and 9 wins....briggs aint winning
Yes,but, Haye & Valuev won't fight him, these being 2 fights he wants. Is this Vitali's fault, NO!:thumbsup
Eh. I am back and forth on this one. I guess its better to fight has beens than never-weres. I have always said he should conclude his career with a seniors tour, maybe this is the start. Holyfield, Tony, Bowe, Maskaev, Rahmen- why not? They are all around the same age 39-47. Much rather see him fight Valuev and Haye, though.
On one hand I'm not too crazy about this fight but on the other I like it better than a Valuev fight. The build up to the fight should be entertaining and the fight itself might be decent. I see Vitali stopping Briggs by the mid point of the fight. I lke Vitali staying busy but Briggs and Sosnowski has made his 2010 a big letdown after his good 2009 year.
He has a better chance then most of the fighters Kitschko has been fighting recently. Might be a good fight for the first few rounds if Briggs came to fight, which it sounds like he has. I got Vitali by 6th round knockout. If Briggs comes out the way he has been recently, he has a chance to knock out Vitali.
I dont blame Vitali one bit. Briggs is a name and frankly there isnt many people left for either Klistchko to fight. Never before can I remember champs chasing challengers so much. They have literally cleaned out the division
Vitali will destroy him....too fast, too tall, too awkward, too many punches thrown. But Briggs will give chase for a round or two and that will be neat to see. As for dissing Vitali for fighting Briggs...who the hell is out there for him to fight? Nobody is calling him out at all. At least Briggs is a known name, former titlist, good publicity, and brings an exciting fight.
I would personally rather see Wlad fight Briggs, seeing that Wlad chin is weak and he tends to panic when he gets pressured or hit hard. Briggs is extremely heavy handed early in fights, with roughly 60% of his knockouts coming in the first round. The man can bang, counter very well, and his hands are quick for his 260 6'4 frame. While I do believe Vitali will beat briggs by knockout in the middle rounds, Shannon does have a legit chance of taking Vitali out early. Though once the fight gets past the 3rd, Vitali will begin to land more, as Briggs begins to drop his hands from exhaustion. It's a fight I want to see, and it is fan friendly. Unlike Vitali's last fight. ****, this one may actually be shown on HBO.
