perhaps. he's live against peter but i give the edge to peter just for the simple fact povetkin likes to slug. bad idea against peter who will land that looping rabbit punch.

the problem with povetkin against wlad is he has average power and no better than an average to above average chin. CHambers knocked him back and stunned him several times with the right cross. That's not a good sign. he can take a few bombs but not close to the amount of a Peter or Thompson.

Povetkin can beat everyone else though. i expect him to a solid fighter for a long time and future beltholder.

For Christ's sake, did no one read my earlier post? The guy's been down once in his entire boxing career, against Islam Timurziev; who, as I said, is a ridiculous puncher and if he's healthy, is all set to win the Gold Medal in Beijing next month. The fact that he was ill and willing to walk through Eddie Chamber's punches to get his off, and looked stunned at times, doesn't mean his chin is average. It means he was sick and taking punches that were quick and had a lot of snap on them.

I wasn't criticizing your opinion even; that's fine, but it's just what I said before-the only evidence we have of Povetkin's chin thus far is the fact he's only been down once against a huge puncher (who, incidentally, he rose and stopped, if I'm not mistaken).

They're going to have to do something to protect Povetkin, after he takes the titles his life will be at risk from the crushed Wlad-huggers.

im not sure how being sick affects the ability of a chin but like i said, imo his chin is probably slightly above average. im going off his a sample of his pro fights and chambers was his best opponent. not a big puncher but a very sharp one. if he can take that klit right cross 30-40 times against, ill gladly admit i was wrong.

:good it should be a high action fight and im looking forward to it. wlad's last 2 were against awkward southpaws so povetkin's conventional style should make it more tv friendly.

I don't think he'll take Wlad's right 30-40 times though. He has underrated defense and head movement (you don't win major amateur tournaments, much less the Olympics, by giving up lots of clean head shots); I think against Chambers the being sick for one could have effected his stamina and if his sinuses were being affected, could make it really shitty to get hit; and it oculd have also just made him more desperate to just get inside and let his hands go and made him neglect his foot and head movement, because he wasn't 100%.

I won't rub it in. I'll be extremely happy that Povetkin has reached the level I've felt he could reach since the Olympics; but it's just a difference of opinions You state your position well and respectfully, it's a good discussion rather than this "your fighter sucks! you're a nuthugger!" **** we get on here half the time.

I dunno. Povetkin is fighting Taurus Sykes next week; who knows what's next. I assume Wlad will have the rest of the year off, maybe one more fight; I hope Povetkin's people don't rush this fight.
