Busted up or not, he clearly won that fight, and Chambers, much like Thompson, was in a turtle-like defence all night. Did anyone ever look good against Roland Wright?

I didn't give Povetkin much chance, but Thompson's pressure gave Wlad some trouble early. If Wlad can't find his rhythm like the first 4 rounds, Povetkin stance a chance. Once he gets into his rhythm of keeping the distance, jab, jab, right hand, the fight is over.

Povetkin threw a ridiculous amount of 70 punches a round against Chambers, and most in shift 3-4 or 5 punch combinations too. That amount of pressure will certainly give Wlad fits. On the other hand, he can't take the amount of right hands that Thompson had to take (and still had enough after 4-5 rounds despite a very strong chin). So, a lot is going to come down to how good his chin is, how well he can avoid the right hand and keep Wlad off his rhythm. So far his chin looks fine, but of course no chin is safe against Wlad as we saw yesterday...

I actually would like to see Povetkin get at least 1 more year of experience, for himself but also because people will say Alexander was green, blablba, if he wins. And while he's only had 15 fights, he had 200+ amateur fights, won all his fight convincingly, fought akward fighters like Byrd and Donald and Chambers was ranked in the ring top10. Hell, most fighters, even if they have 30 fights, never beat a top10 contender before getting their shot. Rahman didn't when he fought Lewis. Valuev didn't when he fought Ruiz. etc etc.

I don't think anyone will win a decision against Klitschko. He's the champion and will always be able to do enough to warrant a decision. And, I'm not sold on Povetkin's power. Looking at his KO victims, I noticed that they are all guys with very dentable chins. Looking at the guys he was unable to finish (Chambers, Donald, Ahunanya, and Tessier) gives us even more info.

-Chambers is understandable, he's a slick boxer and I don't think he's ever been dropped

-Donald also is slick and has a good chin, he's been stopped once, but that was against VK.

-Ahunanya has been stopped once, and that was against Whitaker. Now, if Povetkin is the murderous puncher many are building him up to be, don't you think he would have at least as much power as Goofi?

-Povetkin's fight with Tessier was a four rounder, so you can make the argument that he did not have enough time to get the job done. But, Tessier has also been KO'd twice within four rounds. So Povetkin has less finishing ability than Bangaly Kourouma, but he's goind to KO Klitschko? If you expect him to exhaust Klitschko a la Purridy/Brewster, he better have a granite chin.

Klitschko & Peter are this decades version of the Post 80's Larry Holmes era.
(World HW Champions) I call it Post Lewis.

They are just belt holder's waiting to get K.O.
