If this happened. And he got the wba regular belt would that class as beating George Foremans record?
It shouldn't but I would LOVE to see the promoters make that argument. They are calling Dubois a two time champion now, why not call Wlad the oldest one in this case? It would make further mockery of the alphabet titles.
Of course not. The WBA (regular) is the equivalent of WBC interim or whatever. How can only one body have two world title belts, with only WBA (super) required to be undisputed?
It is a legal world title. If I say I am world HW champion but I am not I can be sued for that. Pulev can call himself a world HW champion, get endorsements based on the fact he is a world champion, and not be sued for his title being made up nonsense. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm not even sure the reg equals an interim since the WBA has those too but we all know it's the super required for undisputed and the existence of a reg holder does not stop an undisputed contest using the super. Just don't know that it is as cut and dry. I guess it more depends on the reaction of the writers and fans.
No. Of course not. Michael Moorer was the World Heavyweight Champion. George Foreman KOed him and won the World Heavyweight Title. Did you think Manuel Charr was the World Heavyweight Champion last week at this time? Then why would Wlad be if he beat Pulev? If Wlad beats the Usyk-Fury winner, then he will be the Oldest World Heavyweight Champion. Last I read, the comeback offer to Wlad was to fight the Usyk-Fury winner (or more specifically, Fury, if he wins). Not anyone else.
dear god, what’s the point? Might as well convince old man Lewis to come back to put the true lineage on the line?
The only two current world champions are Usyk and Dubois If I was Klitschkos team I’d go for the Usyk fight since he’s smaller and doesn’t hit as hard fighting a young and heavy hitter like Dubois wouldn’t be a good idea To be frank he shouldn’t be entertaining a comeback at his age and the length of time he hasn’t boxed
I do agree but for the record books Dubois is also a world champion and beating him makes you a world champion
So you only recognise the lineal champion - do you not consider Wilder, AJ or Ruiz to be former world champions or that Usyk only became a world champion after the Fury fight?
It's not a world title. A body can only have one world title. The fact we have to deal with four 'main' bodies is enough of a joke.
No just like Foreman winning the WBO in the 90's would not have been viewed has him being a legit hwt champ
