Boytsov's a disgrace, and I'm sick of hearing people defend him based on his age. In three years as a ranked contender he's fought no one worth mentioning, and doesn't look to have any intention of doing so in the near future. It doesn't matter how old you are if you aren't attempting to up your competition by any significant amount.

 

I agree. Pulev is one of the few top contenders who's earned his ranking the proper way. I would've said the same about Helenius a year ago, but we'll see how that one pans out.

 

Watch him do a "Povetkin" when he's declared a mandatory contender for Wlad.

 

Pulev is fighting Ustinov next week in the IBF eliminator.

 

I heard Vitali might be retiring soon. It's probably best for him since he didn't look very good against that tomato can Charr. I have always wanted to see him and Haye fight, so if Haye doesn't be a ***** this time and will actually fight vitali soon, I would like to see Vitali stick around for one more fight.

 

Fury isn't ready. K2 has made him more than 1 offer and he isn't ready.

Povetkin may fight Wlad next year if he can keep it together till then. I think he's been waiting for K2 to decline or retire. Povetkin's decision to wait could be brilliant or stupid depending on how things turn out. I don't believe any version of Povetkin ever had a chance against Wlad, but the closest was probably 2008 when Wlad had not yet perfected his style (see Thompson I) and Povetkin was in good form.

Pulev is in line to take his beating if he can get past Ustinov.

Boystov was offered the fight back in 2010-11 but didn't take it (eg Universum wouldn't take it). He could be an opponent for K2 but to be fair, he doesn't have the credentials and he ought to beat a live body first. Boystov is too small for K2--he'd match up better vrs. Povetkin or Haye.

As far as the Ring ratings go...they aren't too horrible. Boystov and Chagaev aren't in my Top 10. Thompson is. Otherwise the ratings are roughly accurate.
