I hear a lot about how the Klitschkos are bad for boxing because they will never fight each other. Where the titles unified before them? They are willing to fight everybody except each other and in today's boxing, titles get rarely ever unified in any weightclass. In past eras that are supposed to be so much better than today's at HW, many great fights were never made. Frazier never fought Norton, Lewis and Bowe never got together in the pros, Tyson never faced Foreman, Moorer didn't fight Bowe or Tyson. Nobody complaing about these eras, yet the fact that the Klit brothers will not fight each other is held against them.

In 10 - 15 years from now, the fact that two brothers were at the top of the HW division will be regarded as hsitoric, with nostalgic appreciation.

People complain about fights that didn't happen all the time. That Lewis/Bowe/Tyson never fought in their primes is a damned tragedy.

Theirs (the K's) is an historic accomplishment, likely to never be duplicated, but to have the consensus 2 best HW's in the world not fighting each other will never be looked at fondly. Especially in an era not thick with talent.

Agreed. They may not be revered right now. But Lennox Lewis is a good example of somebody who was not fully appreciated until after he retired. Now, he is included in many ATG HW conversations. I think history will prove to be as kind to the Klitschko bros.

I hope one day people do notice it for being as cool an achievement as it really is- out of all the frustration that comes out of having multiple titles for every weight class, one of the bright spots of it is that something like two brothers having the HW title at the same time is possible. I don't think that will ever happen again in my lifetime.

Plus, it also makes it that much more of an accomplishment for the current generation of HW's out ther because whoever wants to become "the man", will probably have to go through both of them. That's the **** Punch-out!! games are made of.

To be honest as a brother myself I think its awesome for two siblings to be in the same weight class as world champions and yeah its ****ing historic ( im rooting for klitschko against haye.....not cos haye KOD macc but cos of the whole decapatation crap ) but still it would be interesting for all i know the first time in history that two world champions who were brothers fought each other. now thats a fight worth making

again, if they were american, they'd be celebrities. 2 brothers in the HW division blowing everyone away is a big deal.

    "Blowing everyone away"

It would truly be a big deal if they WERE actually "blowing everyone away" , but what you have are pathetic performances from two brothers against subpar opposition. But I'm sure you enjoyed watching every exciting second of Klitschko - Igbragimov, or every sloppy second of Klitschko-Gomez

Good counter points! :thumbsup For the record I think Vitali will re-retire soon and Wlad will clean up the division.

So you blame Vitali for Gomez's ineptitude?
