Stretching an arm out and stiff arming an opponent to keep him at distance is illegal. Tommy Hearns got warned for it all the time. Its illegal, but unfortunately like clinching, refs rarely take points off for it. They give out lots of warnings but rarely if ever does a ref deduct points for the act.
