Wow!!! I watched the fight in replay today and just coulndt belive my eyes.

I had read the reports and had expected some clinching in the later rounds but holy cow!! Right from the opening bell it was just clinch after hold down after clinch after hold down. I had no idea that could happen ina boxing match!! Seriously, I have never seen anyything quite like that.

Even though the stats seem to suggest this Klitschko is a good fighter I coulod never quite put my finger on just quite why he is so disregarded in historical terms. Well as they say a picture is worth a thousand words!

Todays fight says it all....weak champion in a very weak era..he clinched Poevtkin to defeat...he didnt win a fight.

I guess the first blame goes to the ref. He never got penalized for it - the point deduction was for pushing rather than holding. Wlad in a way kept doing what he was doing because the ref allowed it to continue.

I too always have been slightly skeptical of Wlad's 'greatness'. And, the with the recent title of 'world heavyweight champion' I cringe every time I hear it. It is a shame that Vitali is injured and possibly due for retirement because I still think he is a lot better. Vitali wouldn't have clinched Povetkin over 100X in a fight.

That ref was pathetic. Not only the clinching but he counted Povetkin 3 times in whatever round it was when each time he was thrown to the canvas.

I think it was bad and agree the ref is at fault for letting him away with it. And it was a bad fight for what should have been Wlad's biggest defense in years. Even some of the kd's he just pushed/rushed him over (after landing a punch).

Grabimir is a wrestler, not a boxer.

The absolute worst heavyweight champion I have ever seen in 45 years of watching boxing, don't throw his record of wins at me because the evidence is in the watching of his fights.

    Clinch....grab....drape....hold....
    Repeat ad infinitum

Shocking... No wonder nobody wants to buy and watch his fights, he's killing/killed any interest in HW fights

It starts with the ref. It's hard to get your rhythm started with those tactics. Povektin never had a chance.

What made is so bad was Vlad didn't have shi.t in front of him but a mediocre fighter.

He was clinching like he was fighting Earnie Shavers.

Yeah I had read the reports before watching but had no idea just how bad it really was...shocking, truly shocking. The very first egagement of the fight was a clinch!! unbelievable.

No way is this guy a great...good yes, great...absolutely no chance.

I grew up watching great fighters and loving HW boxing. What Voidimir does is not boxing and he should be a pariah for it. I think he's a very nice and intelligent man, but in terms of boxing he's a f*cking disgrace and should be laughed out of the sport once and for all.
