    I agree wholeheartedly.

But that's not what happens, is it?

The fanboys say Vitali would definitely beat _______
The haters say he would definitely lose to _______

    Both are wrong.

And performance levels have nothing to do with the quality of the opponent?

Did Sam Peter look just as good against Wlad or Vitali as he did against Jeremy Williams?

Indeed they are for the truly desperate.

Which is why the vast majority of psots / threads comparing Vitali to fighters from the past are from the FANS in a desperate attempt trying to shoehorn him into the all-time-great lists.

Usually, the "haters" (like I supposedly am...) only get into the discussion to counter these claims.

That's pretty much how I see it too if I'm honest. It is fun to stir up **** from time to time with threads like this though - I'll probably miss the Klits when they go, for that reason alone :D

Samuel Peter looked great against James Toney twice. He looked pretty good vs. Maskaev as well. He was completely outclassed against both brothers, worse against Vitali due to styles.

You really honestly think Peter looked great against Toney? I certainly didn't.

If you're honest my friend you'll admit you enjoy these threads too, we get to talk ****, call each other names and quietly have a laugh in the process. I'll admit it started off as hating (mainly due to the contributions of 2smart) but it does have it's comedy value too :rasta

I dont like Vitali outside the ring, but he certainly gets the job done inside of it. Arreola proved he tougher than I thought. He did something neither Peter or Gomez was able to do, which was try and fight Vitali. I truly believe if that was Wlad, not Vitali in the ring on saturday, he would of gave Wlad fits and we would of seen a famous Wlad panic attack and maybe even Wlad getting knocked out. It just sucks Chris had to fight the tougher brother, his career might of took a different path.

Now you're trying to have it both ways.

A an unwarranted slight of Vitali becomes an off the cuff comment, when it becomes indefensible.

It was an ill considered quip and deserved retort.

It seems (from your other post on this page) that your problem is more with the 'fanboys' than the Klitschkos.

And, you term me a fanboy, but where is the evidence for that ?

I regard myself as a fan of both, and am reasonably balanced about their place in history and their current status.

If you read most of my Klitschko posts, that's fairly evident.

I'm not much of a Mayweather fan (not a hater, but I don't like him much. But I always try to give him his dues.)
But I recognize him as the best in the sport.

I get amused (sometimes irritated ) by the more extreme and unrealistic posts by some of their over-the-top Klitschko fans.

But the fanatic haters puzzle (and irritate ) me even more.

I think Chris can come back, this should be his wake up call. He has the tools to become a belt holder IMO, but he needs to make changes. Change his surroundings, maybe his trainer. And most of all change his mind set and discipline in the gym.

Had Chris won against Wlad on Saturday he and his advisers would think no changes were needed and they'd be sure Arreola was destined for the HOF.

Agreed on all points you made. I just would of loved to have seen Wlad get dethrowned, and more fights interested in the heavyweight division again.

Sure. But THREE DAYS of retorts? Dude, that's obsession. You need to learn to chillax. There are plenty of one-liners in every thread, including this one, that I could take issue with but if I'm not sure if someone is joking I let it drift.
    Try it.

    Um, yeah.

Like I have been saying for the past 5 years?:patsch
