I just responded to "Vitali fights approximately once every never." Tuning for a fight 11 weeks after the other is not "once every never" for me. :roll:

The point was the number Vitali has had over the last 5 years or so compared to the number Lennox had in the last 5 years or so of his career.

The whole line of conversation was about the comparative "battle weariness" of the two at similar ages.

One has had extensive layoffs, the other fought a couple of times a year for his entire career, up to the last year.

I wouldn't have even mentioned it if the nuthuggers hadn't started talking about how "great" Vitali looks at 38 compared to Lennox at 37, as if age was all that matters. (ignoring, as always with Vitali fans, the quality of opposition he was looking so "great against)

This is also why I brought up the Floyd at 32 vs Vargas at 25 example.

 

You could argue though that Lewis selectively slacked off in the gym and came in out of shape, based on his PERCEPTION of the quality of opposition. That's why he came in out of shape against Rahman I and Johnson/Vitali.

Vitali always came in in top shape against even the worst bums he fought.

As far as I can tell, Vitali retired for 1,400 days to injuries, nothing else. He is prone to injuries (shoulder, back, knee) and right now I see nobody retiring him but his own failing body.

The emoticons don't change the facts. And Vitaly being injury prone was only incidental to my main point, namely that Vitali has been an active HW champion , depite your claim.

I showed you that he had three title fights in the past eleven monts.

Having no factual retort to that, you focused on a a minor aside.


Fact is, as I've shown you, Vitaly was and is a very active champion by HW standards, including Lennox's standards, at his age, or at ANY stage of his career.

Your point was that Vitaly was not an active champion, and rarely fought.

And that point was demolished.

It's ONE thing to work up the kind of hate you seem to have for the Klitschkos. It's quite another to post horse**** that Vitaly rarely fights.

FACTS:

Each man has had three reigns as a heavyweight champ.

First reign: Vitali: 4 title fights in 9 months; Lennox: 4 title fights in 16 months.


Second reign: Vitali: 2 title fights in 8 months; Lennox: 11 title fights in 50 months.


Third reign: Vtali: 3 title fights in 12 months; Lennox 3 title fights in 19 months.



Whatever way you want to count it, Vitaly has been an active champion and your statement: "Vitali fights approximately once every never" has no basis in reality.

If you want to be so pedantic, what was the actual date of Vitlays first retirement, after all the Rahman cancellations?

See, you counted Lewis's retirement date as the actual date he said I quit, not his last fight.

You have to include the time up till Vitlays announcement, after the four or five postponements then ultimate cancellation of the Rahman fight, otherwise you're completely wrong.


I wouldn't be so bold as to count Vitlays WBO belt as a 'title reign' either, as the belt was worth jack **** when he had it. Hatton fans don't go on about his 'title reign' as WBU or WBF or whatever the **** it was.

WBO seems to have caught up, but back then it was definitely a second tier belt, especially in the heavyweight division.
