Seems like the obvious answer would be yes, but some might want Wlad to clean up.

I was going to put a poll in but it may be counterproductive in this case.

    Discuss.

For those who do not know me, I am no friend of the Klitschko fans in general, but I put that behind me quite a while back when I decided that the main priority was Unification.

Brittley fans should just be happy if he can hobble his way to the ring for a prize fight.

I would rather see Wlad clean up, vitali getting a belt only postpones unification, seeing as though they woould never fight eachother.

King is in no hurry to put Peter's WBC at risk against Wlad, so why not make the most of the required/mandated risk ( Vitali's emeritus status) that King can't get away from, and have Peter (or the Peter Golota winner) fight Vitali in the meantime?

I also think if (when) big VK wins the title back, he'll probably only defend it a time or two before retiring for good, anyway.

And until he does retire, the novely of both bros having heavyweight titles will get the sport a bit of news coverage, until Vitali finally retires, where Wlad can then try to get that title unified. *Try* being the operative word, as you don't know what role King will play in this, and he won't attempt any unification with anyone if his man is as big of an underdog as PEter would be against Wlad.

Total unification would be the absolute best scenario, yes, but Peter is not about to fight Wlad (given that King won't take that risk), so, Peter, or the Peter Golota winner, being forced to fight Vitali (emeritus status) in the meantime is not preventing anything.

I'm not a Klitschko fan but the whole Vitlay/Wald thing isn't funny at all. It's really not.

I would like to see him do it and achieve their goal of having titles together. I really donot see how he can run for mayor and fight at the same time. Being mayor of a corrupt city like Kiev would be stressful and time consuming.

You are a relative "noob", my good chum.

It goes back a long way and has more than one influence.

But let us not get side-tracked. :good

I dont really like Vitali much, especially after holding the WBC belt hostage for a year, between the dates of Dec. of 04 and Dec. 05, when he finally had to give the belt back after backing out of 4 scheduled fights with Rahman.

I think a fight between Peter/Vitali would interesting to say the least, but given Vitali's long history of backing out just days before his fights, doesnt bode to well for us fans and the Heavyweight division as a whole. I personally would rather have Vitali stay retired, he's down enough damage to the struggling division already.

Vitlai can come back and beat Peter, than make one more defense and retire. Fans of the Klitshcko's want Vitlai back. Coming back at Vitail’s of 37+ , and winning a world belt is very rare in boxing. Only Foreman and Jorfe have done this after a long lay and both guys had plenty of warm fights before winning belt back.

Vitlai has nothing to lose in a comeback and everything to gain. In addition both Wlad and Vitlai said they would like to be world champions at the same time.

It was not so long ago that Vitlai was #1 guy out there and ending all fights, the way the fans want to see fights ended.

Wlad can go for the WBC after Vitali retires or vs Peter next if he happens to beat Vitali in his comeback fight.

Title unification is unlikely unless one promoter holds all the cards and lines up the fights back to back to back. Wlad could easily be stripped of one his belts for not fighting a mandatory vs some bogus alphabet ranked guy. As right now Wlad has to fight Thompson next. Not many want to see that fight.

It is about the back stories more than anything else.
