The snow was melting yesterday at the Pocono ski lodge where Eddie Chambers & Co. were winding down their seven-week training camp and preparing to shock the world, never mind what anybody (everybody?) else thinks.
Philly-based Chambers fights Wladimir Klitschko on March 20 in Dusseldorf, Germany, for a bagful of heavyweight belts. Chambers and trainer Rob Murray insist that despite the heavy 8-1 odds, the 27-year-old Chambers will beat Klitschko handily. Handily!

"Klitschko fights the same way every time. That robotic, Eastern European style. It's easy to train for him, because you know what he's gonna do," Murray said.
"Fast Eddie" looked quick-handed as usual sparring with 7-foot Marcellus Brown and undefeated Malik Scott.
Chambers is trying to keep up the ring movement that helped him outbox Alexander Dimitrenko in July. He knows he's no monster puncher, so he wants to pester Wlad into submission. "I want him to feel, 'God, I cannot get away from this guy's punches,'" Chambers said. "I want him to be uneasy in there. Like he's running in a maze and can never find the exit."
If there's any upset vibe in the air, it's because Klitschko-Chambers is getting precious little love in the States, like Mike Tyson-Buster Douglas in Tokyo or Lennox Lewis-Hasim Rahman in South Africa. But Eddie said he won't be content with that sort of upset:
"I don't want it to be the kind of upset where it's a lucky punch and if you fight the guy 100 times he would beat you the other 99," Chambers said.
Instead, he's thinking more along the lines of Cassius Clay over Sonny Liston: "A win where he knows he got beat and he knows he would get beaten again."

Chambers is more robotic than Wlad. Slowly meandering around the ring with his high guard? That seems more robotic to me, why is it only white people that get compared to robots?

Chambers gave his performance against Alexander Dimitrenko a B. Chambers said that he did some things against Dimitrenko that he would not get away with against W.Klitschko.

He talked about how he would fight W.Klitschko (without revealing his gameplan) so expect Chambers to look different compared to his last fight.

    I can't wait for March 20.

I wish Chambers the best, but I strongly doubt he could pull off the upset. Chambers isn't even 6'0, I met him in person a few years ago. His jab is quicker than Wlad's, but Wlad's will land first based on the reaches of both men. Wlad never minded chasing his oppenents down, and going for the kill. The only time he panics is when his oppenent fights back and is aggressive.

You can run, but you can't hide. When Wlad finds him with his straight right through the guard, goodnite "Fast" Eddie Chambers.

Murray has a point about Klitschko being predictable and doing the same thing all the time, and the fact that opponents would lose badly to Wladimir's jab alone tells you the skill-set of the heavyweight division overall.

I think Chambers is 6'1, he's about as tall as Chris Byrd who's also 6'1. BJ Flores said it best, "why do opponents stand right in front Wlad?

Also Chambers will not be backing away, he will be trying to get within punching range. I have yet to see Wladimir fight on the inside.

Chambers power is deceiving, his KO ratio would be higher if he had a better work-rate earlier in his career.

He busted up Derrik Rossy, Povetkin's face was bruised up despite Chamber not landing that many punches. He did hurt Samuel Peter and Alexander Dimitrenko.

I don't think he's that dumb, no matter what his trainer says about Wlad being robotic. I still don't think he'll have enough to deal with WK though, its a bad style match for him and Klitschko has fought fighters of Chamber's calibre for about a decade now

Its more like klits smashes them the same way every time, strait right , left hook, beat down.

Vitali actually fights in the more classic Eastern European style. Akward, hands down low, leans back away from punches, uses a straight left and right as his main offensive weapons. Although I do agree that Wlad is more robotic.

It's just extreme hate that the the real Heavyweight Champion is so dominant and not American or black. When was the last time Wladimir lost a round by a clear margin? That's dominance. When was the last time an opponent could last the distance?

He fights similar every time, and the results are pretty much the same every time. This time will be no different.

Yeah, Wlad might be predictable. Yet, only 2 or 3 oppenents have been effective against his fighting style, and Wlad's been a pro since 1996. Wlad's jab and grab style has worked wonders for him, and I really don't see anyone other than Haye giving him trouble.

Most fighters lie about their height. I seen Sam Peter at 6'0 and a half, and magically he's 6'2 for his next scheduled fight. Tyson used to do the samething. I seen him at 5'10 and a half (Which is his real height), then 5'11 and 3/4. Chambers is lucky if he's 6'0.

Chambers reminds me a little of James Toney at heavyweight. He's pretty slick, and the way he covers up and lets his oppenent throw their best punches at him. Then look to counter, can possibly work against Wlad. He just needs to make sure he's in range, and Wlad doesn't learn how to throw an uppercut.
