He's about to be knocked off of that number two ranking, with the force of Mark McGuire nailing a fastball and sending it over the fence. CRACK!.........WHOOOM! :good As has been said before, regardless of what percentage of Vitali shows up........if he's merely healthy enough to step through the ropes, and show up, he'll have more than enough to do away with Peter. He's that much better than Peter.
Ya know with the rumors of Vitali being a juicer...that comparison probably isn't the best one to use. This fight should be great IF it gets to the ring. Big punching power, lots of storylines, all sorts of action and most importantly? A crowd that should be rockin for Vitali's return. Can't wait.
For someone who barely follows the division, you seem to have a pretty good understanding of what each fighter brings to the table. I am a Peter fan, but I can put my nuthugging aside for most posts. I think Samuel will win this fight, but it wont be easy early on, where Peter will find himself in a slugfest with a still dangerous Vitali, which will make fans of each boxer squirm a bit, with both men exchanging heavy blows and hurting one another frequently. After about the 4th round is where we will see Vitali start to deteriorate, his punches will become more laboring and his age will start to show. This is where Peter will start to take over, and by the 6th round Peter will catch Vitali with a overhand right against the ropes, which will land him on his chin, Vitali will then take a knee and attempt to fight on, Peter, who has a great killer instinct will continue his attack and with Vitali not fighting back, I see the ref pulling the plug. Peter by 6th round TKO.
He also did the same for Corrie Sanders, too bad he couldnt cash in on the tips Lewis gave him when it came time to fight Vitali.
Sigmund Freud could have analyzed Vitali, and Sanders still wouldn't have a shot. lol. I just read the tidbit about Peter/Lewis on wikipedia an hour ago. Thanks for the insight, I know the heavyweights well enough to make simple comments and predictions, but I rarely wager on my own opinions in this division, which imo is the distinguishing factor between a casual follower and a truly dedicated follower. I hope the fight goes as you described, I agree the longer is lasts, the worse it is for Klitschko. He is likely to expend his resources early in avoiding relying on an injury-prone and aged body for 12 rounds, and the full-body rotation that generates punching power is taxing on the lower back in a long bout. With a stiff back, fluid movement and explosive power punching is very much hindered. A major factor in picking a winner here is whether or not you believe Peter's comments about his eardum rupture prior to McCline, I see it as fully credible, but wish I knew an insider who could confirm it. Vitali's punches will be straight and mechanical and not in combination, the kind Peter takes well. His uppercuts and hooks are telegraphed, hopefully these are the tips Lewis is going over with Peter. I just hope Peter takes this seriously from a tactical perspective and doesn't let him emotions get the better of him.
I agree with your post, it's really hard to say what Vitali will look like come October, which will be nearly 4 years since his last fight. I feel Vitali will come out guns blazing, as will Peter, which should make for enertaining bout, something we have seen very few of over the last couple years in the Heavyweight division. My only real fear is Vitali backing out of the fight, which I still feel is 50/50 to be honest with you. I hope you continue to post more often, you bring a certain bookie like perspective to the table, which I find interesting.:good Fatdrunkenslob- I get the same response from every Klit nuthugger after I post my prediction on the fight, Vitali has more rust on his body than my 85 pontiac, the only person thats going to be dreaming, or shall I say having a nightamare, is Vitali come fight night.
Thanks punisher33, I post every now and then and have a lot of respect for some posters here. I sincrerely wish we could create two separate forums, one for fan rallying and casual comments, the other for accountable analysis and predictions. A separate board for this forum's best posters could bring very insightful discussion and I believe lucrative wagers. The only time I got really emotional and posted as such was when Zab Judah quit against Clottey, the tech dec. made my ko/tko bet lose, and the ignorant comments he made after the fight pissed me off real bad.
I hear that, while I get a laugh out of some posters comments, I do know what your saying when it comes to some nuthuggers. I cant see ESB changing anytime soon, though I must say this is the best boxing site out there IMO. I dont bet much, and when I do it's for no more than 20 or so bucs. I use to like Judah, but his gangsta type ways and loud mouth seem to of pushed me away from him over the years, the guy had all the talent in the world, his combination of power and speed was something special, and early in his career you can see shades of Whitaker in his defense as well, too bad his mental toughness wasnt as strong.
Vitali is going to KO Peter. Too much size, reach, experiance, skill. I expect Vitali to pick Peter apart from the outside, avoiding Peter's wild hayemakers and bust him up.
Come on man. its excuse after excuse with you. You just wont give any credit to anyone that has fought Peter. 1 - Peter lost to Wlad...you say "well Peter was green" 2 - Gifted a win over Toney...you say "well toney was supposed to outbox Peter badly" 3 - Peter was knocked down by McCline...you say "Peter had a ruptured ear drum and was off balance on all 3 KD's" 4 - Maskaev hurt Peter....you say "Peter was off balance" Based on your excuses, Peter is one unlucky boxer... OR.... he got nailed and you just wont admit it
