Wlad would be very dangerous due to his size, speed, skills, and devastating two-fisted power. I'd give Wlad a better shot at beating Usyk than I would Lummox Lewis who I think Usyk would outbox comfortably, even this 38 y/o well past prime version of Usyk (prime Usyk would make him look absolutely stupid). But ultimately I see Usyk being too smart, quick and elusive and he'd outbox him too FTR, I've always maintained Wlad would brutally KO Lewis too. I wouldn't rule out Lewis catching him first, but I think Wlad is faster, better technically and would just get there first and there's no way that chin is taking a full power flush Wlad right cross or left hook of that much I am extremely confident. I don't care if Lewis is ranked higher than Wlad on the ATG HW list that doesn't mean anything in a specific fight I've just always felt he sparks him out cold or knocks him absolutely senseless ala McCall I actually picked Corrie Sanders to KO Wlad and I know my poop.
Even though he was orthodox he did a lot of what Usyk does.. brilliant footwork behind that Pawing jab.. naturally bigger too with more power.. it would have been a task to beat that Klitschko.. but Usyk is more dynamic, quicker & doesn't wrestle as much when it gets tough... i can't knock Klitschko too much for that tho, because even the greatest (Ali) use to do it all time.. i think it would have been a chess match , close one .. probably a SD either way..
The gulf in IQ is immense. Usyk would have Wlad figured out before the bell rang. He forces a pace that leads to a stoppage win.
I,d take usyk in that fight. Wlads footwork was good but was only really good going forward and backwards. Most of his opponents could only go forward and backwards. His problems we,re found out against fury who could move every which way and Usyks footwork is better than furys. Usyk for me. Close fight due to wlads size advantage/power advantage etc....but he tended to choke a bit when he didnt have full control of a fight. Wlads style of fighting was pretty basic. They just used his strengths incredibly well. The opponents didnt have the skill needed to break that style. Usyk has the skill....from their it pretty much becomes a bad match up for wlad.
Usyk probably wins by UD. We know what he can do to SHWs now and his endurance and relentless activity is a bad match for Wlad who is a gasser. Wlad is also predictable compared to Fury and less versatile in terms of how he fights and has less effective defence. However, Wlad is quick for his size and has massive power. So even if Usyk can 'work him out' it doesn't mean Wlad doesn't get through with something destructive. We have to acknowledge what Wlad did to Povetkin with some sneaky clean hits, hurt him bad twice. The Eddie Chambers hook etc. He doesn't need openings all fight to win. Usyk can't afford to give him a shot like Fury's uppercut or he might get TKO'd. Usyk beats Vitali without a problem though.
Would probably lean towards Waldo. It's a bad matchup for Usyk coming up against an ATG jab and big man who can move well on the back foot with the rough house clinching tactics down to an art form too for when he does get past the jab. Wlad fought a cautious but dominating performances against Haye pretty much winning every round. Winning the fight quite easily in the end but always respecting Haye's power and not leaving him any big openings. That version of Wlad could put his foot on the peddle a bit more against a non KO puncher like Usyk. Usyk beat Fury well but each round was pretty close so I believe that version of Wlad can easily win more rounds than Fury did plus he has the added bonus of brutual stopping power which Fury never had.
