Klitschko was the clear #1 after his 2006 victory over Byrd. The Chagaev victory should have crowned him as the lineal champ...the only other champ at the time was Vitali who hadn't been lineal since retiring in 2004.

Saying that Klitschko wasn't lineal till Povetkin is quibbling over semantics imho. Povetkin is Klitschko's best win over the clear #2, but Wlad was the man long before that.

 

surely he was number 2 or 3 to fat retired failure of the lewis era 38 year old Corrie sanders, whom he has never shown he can beat, only that he can be destroyed in seconds by him.
