Wow hit a nerve did i you poor sensitive soul Vitali was crap, his accuracy, timing, variety and power was nowhere to be seen. Missing that many punches is nothing to be proud about. And 75% wasnt worked out by myself ****wit, it was a stat i saw from the fight. Now go cry to mummy :hi:
Even if it was 62% thats pretty good. Haye didnt throw enough punches i admit, i was willing him to throw more while watching it. But when you take into account he had a broken right hand for 10 and a half rounds and was fighting someone a foot taller and 7 stone heavier i think i can forgive him this once. Added to the fact that he made Valuev hit air all night long.
For a boxer throwing combo's? Yes. For potshotting? No not really, it's just okay nothing special. Landing 85 punches over 12 rounds is nothing. I had sparring sessions with more excitement. And if Valuev was even half capable of using that weight to hit hard, it would have been somewhat a valid excuse. But Valuev is not a hard hitter at heavyweight, I'd say his power is pretty average. Prepare to accept this excuse against any HW with a pulse, because if you run for Valuev you'll sprint for Vitali. I'm a 140 pound amateur and even I can do that if you just let me run. The ref should have told Haye to fight, it was disgraceful to the people who paid to see it. Thank god I wasn't one of them.
A bit of nerve you say, yet your the won resorting to mentioning my mother and telling me to **** off:rofl:rofl. You're right you couldn't have worked out 75% by your self, if that was the case you wouldn't be in special ed:yep. Now you said you saw the stat from watching the fight. Fair enough-I believe you. I really do believe that that you believe that you saw something:rofl. Now, what else did you see? Dead people, Alex Jones winning the primary, maybe a commercial offering a discount procedure for Lasik?
Erm not really much to respond to there, just a load of waffled crap :nut And where did i tell you to **** off? I didnt, you be wrong, again.
Post of the day.... :-D most people in this thread are borderline trolls. Using the argument of the majority, manny has one fight at WW against a shot weight drained DLH. Why should manny be given a chance, none of his other fights count.... Load of crap
His career prior to that should count, but I think he'd have to prove himself at that weight first. It would also be sour to more deserving people at WW, who fought the best competitors to have a shot at the title, only to get put aside because some loudmouth claims greatness. The loudmouth isn't Pac of course, Pac speaks with his hands like a boxer is supposed to. Haye speaks with his mouth, then fights with his feet. Anyway, most of this discussion isn't about whether Haye deserved the shot or not, it's what he did after he got it.
Haye is a good fighter great power, im not gonnar get into his last fights tactics, but hey if holyfield had got the title the way haye did no ****er on here would be saying Holyfield hit and run, it would of been made out to be some sort of ****ing masterclass...... O ****ing double standards on this Forum.:yep
Won the fight. Even if you scored 11 rounds as a draw - he won that fight based on a 10 point must by winning the 12th round, incidentally a big round for Haye. What is the issue? He didn't ko Valuev? He wasn't the first, probably won't be the last to fail. For not going in all gunslinging - he was fairly active/aggressive til he broke his hand, however he showed versatility in fighting disciplined for 12 rounds - something people didn't think he could do. He answered more questions that night than he raised. Was it the spectacle he said it would be? No - few expected it anyway, so again - where is the issue? Can he take a punch from a full heavyweight? He took a good wide hook from Valuev and didn't blink. Others punch harder, but so what - go down that road, and Oliver McCall is potentially suspect chinned as one fighter may put him down/ko him. Can he go 12 rounds? irrespective of activity - yes, he can, and was the fresher fighter throughout. Explain to me exactly what the issue is? Even by your scorecard - Haye won, as the first 11 rounds were a draw - 10-10, and Haye won the 12th round 10-9, consequently a win for Haye based on the starndard scoring system, he followed boxings most basic principle - "hit without getting hit", and he showed his power at HW is to be reckoned with, with both hands - as we know his right is deadly, and his left had Valuev doing a silly dance.
:good good post, i couldnt agree more... Haye is good for the division and everybody slags him even thoe they will be paying box office to see him fight..
The issue is him running and only throwing 140 punches, that's disgraceful by any standard. He wasn't aggressive before "breaking" his hand either, he ran from round one through eleven. Good thing he unbroke his hand in round twelve. He can go twelve rounds running, whether he can do that fighting is a question that remains unanswered. Hit without getting hit, that's the issue here as Haye barely hit. One hundred and forty punches! An absolute disgrace for someone who claims to be the saviour at HW. The only question that was answered is that Haye needs to run against anyone with a pulse, because he did it against someone who most people on this site think is a **** boxer. And indeed he won the fight, 120-119. Congratulations mr. Loudmouth :good
