i just like the fact that people are taking the time to do anything boxing related at all. In our major newspapers here not one mention of boxing in the sports pages. They never mention boxing on the sports shows, and no one in the city, other than boxers, know anything about boxing. However, Bellator (sp?) Fight Night or whatever is one 5 times a day on The Score (sports station), MMA Connected is on all day and night on Sportsnet (another National Sports Station), and I am now aware that Toronto FC (our soccer team) has had 6 coaches in 3 years. Hell, volleyball is in the sports pages. The only place for me to get boxing news is here on ESB, so whenever I see anything boxing related anywhere, I appreciate it
Aint Canadas media getting more in boxing now than Bute and pascal are top boxers? In Finland we had no boxing coverage until Asikainen started to get close to European title. Now major boxing events are in news papers
nope. if it wasnt for HBO Canada, and the odd TSN boxing, we'd get nothing. But even TSN will replay the same fight (sometimes not even the whole card) over and over again (meaning twice a week until the next fight). Example, Hopkins / Pascal was shown maybe 5 times in the 30 days following the first fight. I don't recall the second one being shown. But i do recall seeing Tye Fields over Christmas fighting in front of maybe 500 people in Edmonton on TSN i think. Southern Ontario (or Canada, as Toronto IS the centre of the universe) is all about MMA and UFC, especially now that mma is legal here.
That was quite good. I assume the creator was American, since David Haye sounded Australian, not English.
