Unification at last ! Wlad by easy tko...Sultan is a southpaw but hes no Corrie Sanders in the speed and power department imo Chagaev Wlad is a fight i want to see when Ruslan gets healthy...i think he poses Wlad some problems should they meet
Chagaev is healthy and apparently preparing for his next opponent. But I also agree that Chagaev will be Klitschko's toughest test out of everyone out there. But Sultan has a title, and to me, that's all that matters to make this fight very important and long overdue. But at the same time, Sultan is undefeated, has very fast hands, a decent punch, and is not to be overlooked. I am really looking forward to this fight (assuming it happens). I think it'll be the most watched heavyweight fight in years, and should be the start of the heavies getting clear, defined, and much more interesting to diehards and casual fans, alike.
I bet a month off ESB that no one in the states will care enough to watch this shitty fight, it might not even be on PPV. Sultan doesnt pose any threat to Wlad, what the hell is going to do box him. Wlad is going to walk right through this weak so called champion, if Sultan wins Wlad should consider retirement.
What is that supposed to mean? It may not be on PPV, but I see that as a good thing that the station carrying it is doing. It being on regular HBO will expose this all important fight to a wider audience, and will certainly help get the public more interetsed in who's who in the divsion, again, as one titleholder falls, and only three are left. :good
I'll do my very best. Basically what Wlad says is "I still need to prove that I can unify the titles and be a true champion instead of just winning fights." Ibragimov says, "we Russians are used to work hard until we have reached our goals, whereas American boxers nowadays are pretty lazy and they lack the hunger that is necessary to be the best. That's why their development has stopped." The rest is the usual promotional blah blah by RTL, something about "two Soviet-born boxers fighting in the mecca of American boxing Madison Square Garden on February 23rd to get closer to their goal of being the undisputed heavyweight champ" etc. Nothing definitive yet though, just speculation and hype at this point.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read that W. Klitschko has always opted NOT to fight of PPV because he wants everyone to be able to enjoy his fights for free. He still makes load of cash even without PPV. I'm pretty sure about this though--why else would he have never fought on PPV even once? He's one of HBO's consistently big draws.
You dont know what you are talking about. When has Wlad backed out of a unification? Stupid post!!!!! :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh
See Heavyrighthand Im not the only one that really doesnt care all that much for unification, the important thing is good matches get made, Iggy/Wlad wont even be competitive.
You are right. He wants the fights to be free. This fight will NOT be on PPV>>>it will be regular HBO and thats good for all of us
Wlad has been calling for unification since he won the title from Byrd. It is not Wlads fault if the other title holders are not worthy, or as you say "not competitive" to fight him. He wants all the belts regardless of who the champ is. I give BOTH fighters credit for making this happen
Thanks for the info. :good And while Punisher and Golota'sProzac may not care about, or see the importance, of unifying the fractured title, at least the remaining 95% of us do, and we see it very clearly. :good This will be the best thing that's happened to the division in years. Without question. :good :good :good Not an instant cure, no, but it'll be the start of things improving for the division as a whole.
Wlad is the man right now, I just would rather see him fight a guy like Peter, Maskaev, or Valuev, fighters that will actually give Wlad a fight IMO. The average fan could care less about this fight, most people dont even know who Sultan is. I want to ask all the Wlad lovers one thing, how in the hell is Iggy going to make this a competitve fight against Wlad?
