I agree fully, I dont blame Wlad for the mess we have in the Heavyweight division. I just wish there was more competitive fights at the top level, Iggy is just an easy mark for Wlad. As far as you saying Iggy was more reckless, your right he was, up until Austin and floored him. His only chance in this fight is to go for broke, Wlads chin is still weak and if he can tap it who knows what will happen. The fact that he was afraid to go in on Holyfield, doesnt say much about his willingness to go after Wlad.
I never said unfication was a bad thing, all I said was its a bad matchup. I used to remember when unfication meant 2 great fighters fighting, not 1 good fighter and a maybe above average fighter. Im looking foward to the Maskaev/Peter fight, at least that match will be exciting IMO.
It has the makings of being more of an exciting match, both of them are heavy hitters that are not afraid to throw the leather. The only thing thats going to be exciting about the Wlad/Iggy fight is when Wlad knocks him out, and we dont have to see that half assed title holder again.:yep
Just a thought DR Scar= What if Hopkins fights RJJ, with BOTH agreeing to retire at fights end = Who would you favor????:think
Of course he has a shot, I would be a idiot to say he didnt. Maskaev is a tough guy with a big punch, this is far from a walk thru for Peter. I give it a 70/30 Peter, but it is the Heavyweight division, anything could happen.
The Ring Championship vacancies are filled by winning a box-off between number one and number two contenders, or in certain instances, between a number one and number three condenters. So I ask is Wladimir Klitschko vs Sultan Ibragimov under any of these circumstances as yet or are we electing the winner as Heavyweight Champion in advance?
Great news! Ibragimov showed no trouble in taking flush punches from Briggs and Holyfield, the former is a huge puncher. He did get knocked down by Austin though (when he was lunging in and a bit overweight). I think he's pretty durable. I'd be impressed if he went the distance. I hope he's a bit more agressive than he was against Holyfield and Briggs though. Against them it worked fine - against Klitschko he'll be eating jabs and straight right hands if he tries that.
There has never been and probably will never be a HW Champ with the four belts. It is nice to imagine, but an utopia. I would consider the HW with two belts, or maybe three, the Champ.
let's hope the match actually takes place. i'm just a little concerned ibragimov will pull out at the last moment or something unexpected happens. i only believe in unification when i see it.
I dont know, I been struggling to come up with a perdiction for this fight. I see it going 2 ways, on 1 side I see Peter going right after him early on and huting him to where he gets TKO'd in the 3rd round. My other perdiction is a competitive fight where Peter catches him in the later rounds with something big and knocks him out, so it might be competitive IMO.
