Because someone who pays $500 for a ring side seat ticket or subscribes to & pays for HBO could care less about the business of the sport and wants to simply be entertained. You can change the tables around and see it both ways; you have the boxers perspective and also the fans. From a fans point of view, in the end, will Wladimir pay off my car,my house, if he wins 20 boring fights and makes a killing of money? No. Will he give me money if he wins 18, loses 2, in 20 exciting and memarble fights? No, but at least I get my time and money's worth.

I agree that for the people who bought tickets for this fight, they got robbed of their hard earned money. But from Wlad's perspective, i think he did the right thing. He did what he had to do to win. He didn't have to do much. But i understand the perspective of people who paid money for this fight. In that case, i would be so pissed. :fire

Only the heavyweights can truly bring credit to the sport for the heavyweight champion is the best boxer in the world.

"Stand a chance"? Are you serious? :rofl

Peter is not afraid of Wlad and clearly, from last night's stellar performance, Wlad is very cautious of anyone with half a decent punch.

Would Wlad be a big favorite?... Yes. Would he also go down like a ton of bricks if Sam hit him square in the chops with a real power shot?... Yes.

Anyone that can hit has a shot against Wlad. Especially seeing as how Wlad hasn't actually been punched in 2+ years now. Sorry, but you know it.

Some of you are pure ****s. Ibragimov is a small fast southpaw, and was trying to land a counter haymaker whenever Wlad tried to throw more than a jab. Plus, Wlad is the only top Heavyweight that consistently breaks down his opponents skilfully and CLOSES THE ****IN SHOW. No one else does that. He deserves to be forgiven this one time for being cautious. Also, dont forget that the way Sanders was able to catch Wlad was because he was playing possum against the ropes and lured the agressive Wlad into walking into huge shots.

Good point Sultan had a slippery style that Wlad wasn't confortable with trying to go for the KO.

i dont see what the problem is. Sure it was a boring fight but the guy did what he had to do to win. Thats his sole reason for being in that fight. To win it.

Yes. NEXT fight, we better see a text book power display, and someone falling on their face.........

But I think we'll see Chag avoid any unification fights, and Wlad will be in with Povetkin, next.

He could fight again after one week if you fight fights like that.

    Exactly.

Its not like he barely won a split decision, and barely made it to his feet after suffering a knock down.

He dominated the fight, had Ibrag down (even though he was on the ropes, which seemed to hold him up), and Wlad had very strong defence, and barely got hit, at all.........all while landing his own jab at will.

And yet just cause there was no knockout as everyone was expecting to see, he's heavily criticized and almost run out of town on a rail. For WINNING a unanimous decision!!!!!

    :-( :-( :-(

Line them up and knock them down in a more timely fashion and then you cannot be denied! If you fight every three months, and continously call out the other champs after you win....they will fight because they do have pride. The other champs will step up if you fight more often, the way I see it fighting more often is the only hope for a unified champion! He can fight more often because he doesn't get punch during his fights...he is superb defensively!

You realize people pay money to watch these fights right and how was it the smart thing to show zero heart and excitment in the ring?
