Some Americans think that they are the center of the world. Boxing has changed and guys like Klitschko make a lot of money without american support, way more than 99% of the fighters except maybe guys like DLH and Mayweather.

WLad klitschko can't take a punch. Thats why he keeps fighting tomatos. People are sick and tired of his boring style.

I am American but I could care less about a person's nationality when it comes to their skill level, etc...I really think there is a large portion of Americans who don't like when foreigners dominate. This is another example of pure hate. This guy lies about facts and just spews garbage. Im sure his style may be part of it for many, but it's clear it's not the only reason.

Atlas and Sugar are two other perfect examples.

I dont care what nationality or creed you are, I base it off their abilities and personality. I like a fighters whose tough (Not Wlad), willing to go to war with his oppenents to get the job done (Not Wlad), Good Chin (Not Wlad), and has power (Wlad does have that), also an enertaining personality (Not Wlad).

So as you can see Wlad only has one attribute I like in a heavyweight, everything else he doesn't. Thats why I dont like Wlad as a fighter.

    I hate nationalistic pricks.
I like RJJ because of the way he fights i dont begrudge the Klits being heavy weight champs even if they do bore me i like Kessler i have a picture of Tyson as my avatar. i could go on.
Bassically it doesnt matter who the **** or where the **** the fighter comes from if i enjoy watching them it is good enough for me.
Of course when a brit fights i will support them. (it would be wierd if i didnt) but thats as far as the nationalist thing go's.

Sadly I agree with this. Boxing is a Global sport right now more than it ever has been.

Reminds me of a quote Merchant gave after Klitschko KOed Brock:

"Where have you gone Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis?"

Boxing is thriving in the UK and Germany right now. Huge crowds for fights and I applaud their fans for that I wish an American fight could fill a stadium or that we would get behind our fighters like the British do etc.

I think you have the support its just the size of your country.
You have states bigger than the UK and it is a long way to go from one to the other.
It doesnt help showing all the fights in vegas. Ricky hatton fills stadiums in Manchester (his home town) Calzaghe in Cardiff (not far friom newbridge).
I think you have the fans. Its just not as easy for you lot to get to the fights.
Its a shame because i bet if you filled a stadium with fans and had a few pints you would be just as pasionate as us.
Its amazing how pasionate you get when your pissed.

The "real fight fans" had MSG and Boardwalk Hall full for the three Klitschko fights that I've been to. The author is a complete tool.

I cannot even begin to express the stupidity of that article. He just fought in front of 60,000+ people, he has sold out every single one of of his fights here in the US, but somehow that doesnt mean **** because only america has "real fight fans"

That is the complete opposite of the situation. If anything, the real fight fans are all in Europe. The american boxing fan base has been steadily shrinking for years, the last 2 years have been first that things have been looking up at all. Even then, most boxing fans in the US are all hardcore fans. There exist hardly any casual fans of the sport
