He very well might hit harder but Wlad rarely commits to hard punching anymore. He paws with the jab instead of using it as a battering ram and doesn't let the right hand go. All a byproduct of his timing and reflexes being completely gone.

Amazed to see so many people pick Joshua here.

I'm a massive fan, would love him to win - but he's shown nothing in his previous opponents that he's ready for Wlad. Wlad will be stronger than him, smarter than him and more evasive than anyone he's fought before. Wlad is obviously the favourite in this one.

Wlad by KO rd 7, even this Wlad at forty still has enough to deal with a young pup like Joshua, I am not hating on AJ I just feel this is too early for him.

Same here, AJ has a lot going for him . I just worry about this match up...feels like a massive step up in class.
I have a feeling it will be very tactical when his best chance might be full on and trying to overwhelm Vladimir.

Wlad can, and has, KOed many opponents with just one shot..... and with either hand

I have yet to see the supposed brutal KO power from Joshua on a halfway decent opponent.

    HUGE step up for Joshua

Wlad id now highly motivated and focused to right this wrong (his loss and some saying he is passed his best ) and will go all out for a dramatic win

Joshua has fought poor opposition so far,I don't know how this gets him ready for the fight with Klitschko.

It's possible but we have to see that in an actual fight.

True, Wlad has tremendous power and is capable of KOing almost anyone with one shot with either hand, which makes him dangerous even if he is totally shot, all he needs is to land once.

Joshua clearly hits hard though obviously against lesser opposition. His KO of Whyte was brutal, he KO'ed Martin with a fraction of his real power and his stoppage of the usually very durable Johnson suggests he has more than enough power to KO Wlad as well.

But yes this is a huge step up, if this was prime Wlad it would be a no brainer, Wlad would school the youngster, but Wlad is way past his best. He's been in decline since Pianeta to me, his jab is gone, he's been inactive for longer than ever before, he's struggled badly in his last 2 fights, in fact he was unable to make his power count in his last 2 fights, he's never been taken the distance back to back before, not ever.

I think both fighters are unknown quantities at the moment which is why it's a pick em fight. Joshua is unproven at the highest level but has looked great so far, while Wlad has clearly declined but how much has he declined, how much of his 2 previous poor performances were down to his opponents ability and how much was it down to his decline.

Joshua/Klitschko on April 29.Ali Bashir one time commented on Joshua/Klitschko sparring and he said that Joshua was afraid to throw punches against Wladimir because he was a champion but then he spoke to Joshua and from that point on sparring became very competitive.

Could be Holmes Tyson all over again or WK puts in a last great performance. Either way you have to admire Klitschko....

& Josh too. Edging towards a changing of the guard. Fury I suppose did it but he's imploded it seems.

I'd back Joshua. When last did Wlad fight a puncher? Wlad is years past his best, and while he has a massive edge in experience, I don't think it will be enough.
