mcline is about as hopeless an opponent out there, i tak eit ray austin wasnt available lol, no one eyed men like brewster either, mcline has no heart for a fight, ive never seen such a scared fighter, just watch the guy during referees instructions, thats where his bottle goes.
McCline is a world class fighter, if you want to be precise about it. Sure, some will make jokes and such about how world class he is, but he was a highly rated contender, and lost a close fight against one titleholder in Byrd, and was just recently winning more rounds in the fight against another titleholder in Valuev. So jokes aside, McCline would certainly be considered world class. Great opponent for Vitali to take. Not only a world class opponent, but also a very big, massive man for Vitali to fight, so he won't enjoy the massive size advantage he normally has over most everyone else. Very bold move, especially when he could have merely fought someone like a Rydell Booker.
McCline is surely a very decent fighter for a comeback fight, but all the same I am a bit disappointed as Vitaly's stated in an interview a few days ago that he would face a "world famous boxer". As it turns out McCline is that " world famous fighter". Anyway! I very much hope that Vitaly vs McClien is fun to watch as long as that fight will last.
It would be more appropriate to call him a gatekeeper. Vitali is and should be considered in a tier higher than McCline. There's no reason to prop him up, though. It's a very good comeback fight for Vitali because, as you said, it's not like he's fighting Rydell Booker. He's a B level guy that many once had high hopes for.
McCline has an unnatural advantage with that tiny, peanut like head. How is anyone supposed to hit that?????
I wouldn't be surprised to see McCline pull this upset. Vitali hasn't fought in 2 1/2 years. The thinking here is that McCline will be tentative like he usually is and be target practice. However, if Jameel stands up to Vitali like he was starting to against Valuev, he has the size to trouble him and ring rust could be a factor.
He also destroyed Michael Grant, dominated Shannon Briggs, and nearly beat Chris Byrd for the WBA title. He did freeze against Wlad, but when he's on, McCline is a solid opponent.
That's not the wayI remember that fight. It was Wlad who looked confused and tentative during much of the fight. McCline's height and reach seem to trouble Wlad especially in the middle rounds when McCline countered well and actually backed Wlad up. Wlad's class and power started to show later in the fight and he got the K.O. but McCline can be a very dangerous opponent for anybody. Very solid choice for Vitali. I hope he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew. He must be rusty as hell after all this time out of the ring and recovering from serious injuries.
McCline is good enough for a come back fight ! Nobody knows what Vitaly is able to bring to the table, yet. Could be a good fight to measure that.
Its a good fight for Vitali. McCline is a solid guy. He has some good wins on his resume. It will be a good gauge for Vitali.
lol, well grant was psychologically traumatised after the lewis loss, in the first second of the mcline fight he was so scared he went over on th efirst punch, he actually went over on his ankle and broke it, thats why the fight was stopped, he broke his ankle, he wasnt knocked out. Shannon Briggs was like a statue in their fight, he was so big and heavy and couldnt move, i think he was about 280 in that fight. The worse he has ever looked. Byrd, well a shot Golota pretty much beat Byrd too. Mcline quit against wlad after fighting scared and on th everge of a panic attack all night, he stood so far back that all his jabs fell short, hopeless, yet it took wlad all thos erounds to do anything with him and in the end mcline ran and dropped to the canvas in fear then quit on his stool while completley in charge of his senses, as soon as he gets hit hi sheart deflates. If vitali cant put this guy away in 2 rounds then he should forget it.
