It's a stay busy fight. The other option were not available.

There have been much worse title challengers in heavyweight history...

I'd rather see him fight than not. Noone else seems to volunteer for a beating.

besides, Mormeck is the same size as Frazier. i would like to see the disparity between him and a Klitschko

this is true...still doesn't make it any less dissapointing, though.

True. But the disappointment should be directed at the fighters who turned down the fight with Wlad, not Wlad himself.

naming 30 HW might be easy....

we can all make lists... doesnt mean the guy is willing to fight Wlad...PLUS many are already scheduled to fight.

Arreola - " A fight with wlad would be spring of 2012 at the earliest"
    Fury - "im not ready"
    Helinius - "i need 2-3 more fight"

    etc etc etc

I'd rather see a fighter stay busy than not fight at all. Wouldn't be my first choice to see, but it doesn't sound like it was Wlad's either. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. And these are exactly the type of fights that can be spoilers. Some of you guys never stop bitching. At least he's fighting.

    BINGO!!
as they say... you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink

all wlad can do is offer... if the guy says "No" then its on to the next

what is bothering me is guys mention fighters as if Wlad can just get a fight with that guy NO PROBLEM.... doesnt work like that

... just because wlad offers a fight doesnt mean a guy will take if they feel he is not ready

Haters say it was a robbery. I watched the fight, and Mormeck was the agressor for most of the Oquendo fight, even trying to KO him from the 3-7th rds. I gave Fast Fres(MY HOMETOWN HW) 5 rounds.
Mormeck was the much busier fighter in the Tiggy fight. He was going in and out, and drilling body shots on Ibragimov from the 1st round. Clearly his power is lacking at HW, I agree, but he doesn't appear any weaker an opponent than Adamek in those terms.

As for his age, he's just turned 39. Vitali is 40, and Mormeck is in the shape of his life. He's ripped up like a young Tyson. He's 6'0 and will prolly come in btween 210 and 220.
People are hyping the **** outta 40 y/o Amir Monsour, and he's really only 5'10 and he really is 40 years old.

Watch the Oquendo, Maddalone, and Tiggy fights, and try to find rounds that Mormeck clearly lost. Even in the rounds where Iggy and Oquendo won, it was only due to there size and reach advantages.

Wlad is gonna rip Mormeck apart, but it just goes to show why no other top 20 HW wants any part of him accept for the payday.

Think back to the Tyson Spinks fight......we all knew what the outcome would be, and we all knew Spinnks was only there for a payday.

It is what it is, and guys like Helenius, Potvetkin, Fury and Wach can wait patiently because the K2 don't have but maybe 15 fights left between the 2.

Among the top 50, with a minimal amount of ducking, guys like Sasha, Helenius, and Fury could pick up the belts without ever having had to face the K2.

The winner of Chambers/Thompson will be the most deserving challenger to Wlad so I'd like to see that fight. I'd also like to see the Haye rematch but of course we won't get that....

Assuming Wlad/Mormeck I hope Wlad plays it aggressive and goes for an early knockout. Time to dust off the old Wlad who beat down the bums as he was coming up through the ranks. Go for the early knockout and to hell with dragging it out for more RTL ad time.
