Klitschko or Thompson? Who are you rooting for?

This isn't a question of who is going to win, but who you are rooting for. Personally, I will be going for Thompson because he is the underdog from the good ole' U.S.A. I really disliked Wlad after the Iggy fight and think Thompson could be a relief.

For example: Maybe he'll look to unify all of the belts. Even if he doesn't it could potentially give us a clear champ. Yes, it is a very very long shot but I can dream, can't I?

    Definetly Klitschko.

I usually enjoy watching his fights. I thought the second Byrd bout and Brock were both entertaining, even if they were a little hug-happy. To me, there is nothing more exciting than a guy with legit one punch knockout power in both hands. I even enjoyed the Ibragimov fight the first time around for that reason.

He's a nice guy too. It may not mean anything to a lot of people, but it does me. He's a brilliant champion outside of the ring. A genuinely nice guy who wants to improve the image of boxing and the lives of impoverished people. I respect him a lot.

Aside from that, he's the best heavyweight out there. if he loses, the division as a whole suffers. It will be a mess once again. Thompson will have a belt, Klitschko will be back on the trail, nobody will be thinking about unification and so on. Klitschko losing is the worst thing that can happen to the heavyweight division, unless it's against Haye, who has a similar attitude to Wlad.

thompsons style isnt flashy an bases his work on a southpaw body punchign wear down style...which i think makes him a very different opponant than all the other of wlads competition. most being either fast at hand and foot or being sluggers.

thompson is a tall southpaw (who is right handed by the way) with a slight pop but his main arsenal is his cotto like body punch destruction style.

It does matter that Klitschko is a nice guy. He's a role model that kids can look up to.

thompsons defence is pretty weak and he hasnt shown alot of resiliance...he migh tturn up and be unkoable...but his style is of a tall body puncher with a high workrate...a counterpunchers dream and nightmare in few words.

i think a left hand will dictate the pace then will finish of tony mid rounds...later i wonder if wlad will tire

Best HW since Lewis whether you like it or not.

Kids can look up to him because he's survived bull**** critique from assholes like you who wouldn't dare get in the ring with him. You're just like that Derek poster guy, right? You pick every Klitschko opponent to KO him too right?

When's all's said & done Wladimir Klitschko will be remembered as a great Heavyweight Champion who unified the belts that Don King, Lewis, Bowe, etc. all let become fragmented.

That will be a great achievement for the kids to look up to, especially after having been written off.

I think so too. I know people like Judah, Toney and Hopkins get a lot of respect from fans, but they don't help the sport by being the way they are. Klitschko is a true champion in that regard.

I have a son & he has 10 cousins & many friends who'd appreciate that aspect. Lewis was a good role model, so was Joe Louis.

Klitschko, hopefully it'll be a first round KO. I want him to have a very easy fight before he faces Povetkin.
