Mike Tyson came in some fights at a higher weight than Lennox Lewis did in some of his.

    Was Tyson fat?

Sam Peter is very thick set, which is why he weighs so much for his height. He has a six pack in the photos, you can't be fat and having a six pack.

That is true but more so for fighters that have been in grueling fights ala Holyfield. The only grueling fight Vitaly has ever been was the LL fight (only 6rds).

If it goes past 5 rounds then Vitali might be in trouble, it's just very difficult to believe he will show stamina and everything he did in the past after the lay-off, age and serious injuries that nearly sent him out forever.

Vitali looks as built as Wlad, now.

Bigger than ever and more ripped than ever. How many fighters can come into their first fight back after four years, and get themself in that kind of shape?

I think its gonna be quite a spectacle, while it lasts.

I've said this since the Wlad / Peter fight. Vitali is an AWFUL style matchup for Peter. I don't think Vitali would fight if he wasn't in tip-top shape, so I give Peter very little chance in this fight.

Especially with his steroid use in the past...this really worries me.
Your cardio deteriorates as you get older at a more accelerated rate. Steroids weaken the aorta. This is why steroid users die at such a young age.

37 is OK for a large heavyweight like Vitali who has had relatively few wars in his boxing career (and nearly 4 years 'rest'), and stayed in shape.

Yes, to give credit where its due, Peter is also lean and looks to have put in his time, training, and dieting for this fight, as well. :good

Good for him. Good to see him in that lean condition.

Both look in great shape. It will be an interesting fight.

I still think Vitali will get an injury while in the ring though. 4 years is too much. The nervous energy may force him to overexert something.

Very true, it just doesn't make sense that he will go in there and perform like he did FOUR years ago, if it's two then not many will expect it but four is too much and it's not just a four year retirement out of choice, serious back and knee injuries FORCED him out. Peter has no excuse to lose this one unless Vitali performs like he always does and shocks everyone.

Peter's trainer already said that they plan to take Vitali up to the 6th and weather the storm early then the fight is up for grabs, that's exactly what I expected them to do since this fight was signed.

Yes, 37 is not old for a heavyweight. And for one who maintains the kind of condition Vitali does, especially.

Some on this board act as if he's 45 year old. :-(
