Rosneft, a multi-billion dollar natural resources giant, will sponsor the fight in Russia, brininging in millions in sponsorship money. This is on top of TV money and live gate.

True there is a lot of money in Russia these days, loads of millionaires and billionaires will be buying up the prime ringside seats with hospitality packages costing even more.

The price may very well be more than what is advertised though as the Russians are dodgy as ****. For example when the Bolshoi ballet re-opened recently the very first show, Russian MP's who were given an allocation of tickets were asking for insane money on the black market. Where I worked before a client wanted tickets and this one Russian MP wanted a $50,000 down payment in cash only and this was not even the full price of the ticket and there was no guarantee our client would get a ticket, the $50K just gave him a chance of getting a ticket, though if he didn't the $50K would be supposedly refunded but with no paper trail there of course was no guarantee that would happen. I suspect all the tickets will end up on the black market going for many times what they are being advertised as and this was just for ****ing Ballet.

I suspected something like this had happened, no way was this fight big enough for the live gate and TV money to cover such a huge bid.

I guess he must be a huge fan of Povetkin to lose so much money on this.

Ha, thats insane. They want those belts in Russia and dont think they'd spend that money if they knew Povektin has no chance.

This will be one of the two biggest HW fights since Lennox retired.

I think it will mean more to Wladimir's legacy (edited from "victory") than the win over Haye did.

I like both of them a lot; I will be rooting for Povetkin but expecting a Wladimir stoppage.
