Best heavyweight fight imo in the last 12 years. They say heavyweight boxing was bad then but compared to today, it wasn't that bad.
I knew that Sanders was going to do it. His whole life he'd been aching to get a shot at the big time, and when he finally did, he did not disappoint :good
:hey Hasim Rahman got KTFO by Maskaev... then barely made it past Sanders... and got a Title Shot as a reward against Lewis!! and Knocked Out Lennox Lewis in South Africa!! Sanders about gave up after that... then he gets the call from Waldo's team!! :deal a low-ball offer for a shot at Waldo!! :deal they'd heard Sanders was out of shape and lounging around his backyard pool down on his ranch in South Africa...
Sanders had the goods, exceptional hand speed, well above average power, and a fighters instinct. I don't care who you are though, training for a couple hours a day and slamming brewski's at night just won't cut it. He said that one brother would be the same as the other and an easy ko. No game plan, an extra 10 lbs of beer and no more belt. Corrie did have him on the run though, pretty much like most of his fights. You better be on your game or he would knock you TFO. Was a good fight. Great upset, Sanders biggest night and a big lesson for Wlad. Eventually he learned from it and came back stronger.
Agree, Vitali vs Corrie is in some ways my favorite fight of all time. Vitali really matrixed some of Corrie's best shots, while landing some heavy ones. Throw into that they both hurt each other at times and it was a true action packed SHW contest and it was flat out great. I'd recommend you just say "Vitali-Sanders" next time though, its too confusing with just "Klitschko"!:good
aha. well even that's hardly a big figth, facing a retiree. But I guess someone had to face sanders if wlad couldn't do the job.
