Clearly a hard shot landed to the temple/top of his head, then he stumbled back.

I'm almost thinking that shot ****ed him up that much, for whatever reason.. and the leg thing is all bull****.

 

I thought Solis was looking OK until he buckled. It didnt look like a KO punch from Vit but hard to tell unless you are the one taking the punch. I imagine there will be doctors reports etc in the following days.

Punch landed similar (mirror) to the one Wlad KO'd Chambers with.

 

Uhm. Yes it was. He got him with a good shot right on the top of the head. Clear as day.

 

I find it ridiculous for some people to suggest that Solis was looking good or even was'nt looking bad.......
Had the 1st round gone to its conclusion it would have been a clear 10-9 for Vitali.

Solis as expected fought a very cautious 1st round, and there was'nt a damn thing he did in it that would suggest he could compete with Vitali.

Right from the onset, Vitali controlled him with his jab.
The couple of times Solis attempted to come in to throw punches gave me the suggestion that he was'nt going to be quick enough on his feet to dart in and out.......which is quite frankly the reason why he got clipped near the temple and lost his legs.

 

If the German interpreter translated Solis correctly at the post fight interview, he was quite honest on what happened. Solis said he got hit by Vitali and hurt his knee at the way down. Vid supports that. (that is if translated correctly of course)

 

One thing for sure is Vitali looked VERY sloppy!! VERY old!! And is open to some heavy shots! Haye will take him out with ease! Dont think because fatty took a dive or has a bad knee he will beat Haye! And any one who says that was a ko shot is a pure idiot!!! There was no pop in that shot it hardly travelled!

 

Gravity ko'd Solis, not Vitali. I'm a big fan of the K-Bros, but it was clear as day that Solis' legs gave out in a nasty looking way. His left leg looked like it bent backwards at one point. That's what happens when you are a lard ass and try to drop too much weight too fast to make a fight. It's better to eat right and train year around and this kind of injury won't happen.

 

Crisp shot right to the temple of Solis. He was out for a microsecond and his legs became jelly for a moment. Unfortunately he seems to have injured his knee or ankle in the process.

 

Yeah, it looked like to me that when Solis buckled, he tried to keep from going down and as he was driving back, not having complete control of his legs, his right leg got to far behind him and that must have done something inside his knee ligaments.

I was actually skeptical when I first saw Solis grab his knee thinking he just was going to use it as an excuse to quit.........but after seeing the replays several times, I cant sit here and call the man a quitter when replays show he may very well have injured that knee.

 

Enough with handpicked Euro Champs, Cubans in Germany or bums from the States. Let Vitaly bring on David Tua, Nicolay Valuev or David Haye to the table.

 

This is the best analysis if indeed his keg/leg/ankle(s) were TRULY injured.

The shot to the temple was a knee buckler for sure, as the video EVIDENCE clearly supports. If I'm Solis, and that shot sends me down, I'm thinking about Briggs and what he endured for 12 brutal rounds of Vitali Klitschko.

Fact is that the Klitschkos are soooooo very much better than their opposition that the rest of the division best just stick to eliminators and contender fights until they are gone for good, lest they find themselves in a Briggs-like comatose.

Can't say I blame Solis for not wanting to continue. He was clearly overmatched, and knows he still has life left in him if he claims injury.

Nice way to bow out Odlanier. At least you went out on your shield.
