I agree. Peter needs to stick to shorter guys who can't punch, but actually he lost James Toney too who is a shorter guy who can't punch.
Maskaev beat Rahman and Peter beat Maskaev. Vitali postponed the fight against Rahman 5 times. Peter is not that bad, some users think. I hope Vitali will take him serious. He can punch, he is young and Vitalis body is not unbreakable.
He is that bad, in fact he is really horrible. You're only backing him so that Wlad's subpar performance against him doesn't look so bad, the same Steward does. Peter can punch if he has a stationary target in front of him that offers him the back of his head. For all we know, Vitali may be that guy by now but in his prime he would have toasted Peter and it would look like he is beating up an overmatched journeyman.
I do not know why some of you didn´t show Peter any respect. He is the WBC Champion, he beat James Toney and he beat Maskaev in 5 rounds. And he gives Wlad a very hard fight in 2005. Samuel Peter´s record might not be the best, but Vitalis record is not much better. I am a Klitschko-Fan, expecially Wladimir Klitschko, but other fighters are around and they do there job, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. But they are all human beings and i have respect for all boxers who go into the ring. Peter had some good moves against Maskaev. Okay he goes down against McCline (but clearly won on points) but Chris Byrd was down against McCline in the second round. Vitali quit against Byrd after round 9. Is McCline better than Vitali? All fighters can have problems against opponents, that´s boxing.
The Maskaev fight was 6 rounds not 5 and the fact it took Peter that long against a guy coming off of a 15 month layoff not to mention Maskaev has a Glass Jaw and Peter could not knock him down and the fact Peter was out of breath by the 3rd round makes that not really that impressive.
James Toney beat him the first time. The second time Toney looked completely shot. Maskaev has a glass jaw. He was knocked out cold by Correy TREX Sanders and Kirk Johnson for christ's sake. You cannot possibly give Scam Cheater credit for beating an old faded glass jaw Maskaev in 6 rounds.
Vitali has never even been hurt in a fight, and he has been in with much better fighters than Sam Peter. ( I mean never been staggered or dropped by a punch obviously.)
Rahman can thank his lucky stars :bart Vit's knee gave out on him. The Rock would have look worse than Sanders after that fight. Can't wait until this fight happens. Sam will connect and may get lucky and cut Vit .that may change he fight; otherwise, I see Vit outpointing him.
This fight won't end on a decision because Vitali fights don't end on a decision, ever, except ONE fight.
