I tell you people dont underestimate Rahman. He has nothing to lose, he will fight as a complete underdog like vs. Lennox. He has the biggest experience of all HW out there and he his not yet completely washed up. If he comes in proper shape (235-240) this could be much more interesting than a lot of people think....if Rahman lands on Klitschko.....
How much can Wlad bench out of curiousity? I just read that for the rematch with Lewis, Rahman was benching 500 lbs. Not that lifting enormous amounts of weight is necessarily a good thing, but still, I am curious.
That's right, that's right. He did have a bit of extra chub for that fight, but hopefully he can trim up since the Toney fight wasn't all that long ago. I just watched his fight with Trevor Berbick a few weeks ago. It amazes me how much hand speed he has lost since then. Too much weight training perhaps?
If looks could kill Rahman would be dead already! I am jealous, Wlad looks absolutely perfect and disciplined! The HW Blob club should be ashamed, that's how a highly paid, professional athlete should look (allowing for a variance in genetics obviously). Considering his proportions and lack of excessive pec development, this looks like practical, sledgehammer punch muscle -- not useless, bloat and bulk! With the proper technique, he truly could deliver some of the most powerful punches ever thrown at HW! Having a background in weight training, I would doubt that Rahman would (if his trainers are intelligent) or could bench 500lbs. 1. He's fairly tall with long arms 2. His bodyweight is generally 240 (+ or - a few pounds) 3. He's not a powerlifter Benching 500lbs for unassisted, free weight reps is getting into the super strong category. Consider Bill Kazmaier, one of the strongest men ever to live. He wasn't casually benching 500lbs for reps even! http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/forums/powerlifting-strongman/40164-bill-kazmaier-routine.html http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question89888.html I know the risk factor is also insanely high in doing such heavy bench pressing. Perhaps I'm wrong, and someone can find a video of Rahman doing it! I for one will not believe crazy bench press claims without seeing them!
That would be a far more realistic number, I could be convinced of that without video evidence! :deal Still pretty high risk training! :bart
