Of course, which is why Lewis has'nt come out of the fox hole he went running into when he got lucky and his fight with Vitali was stopped on cuts.

    What did Briggs say tonight?

Let me quote Shannon Briggs, "Vitali is the best I ever fought, by far.":yep:lol::hey:tong:tong:tong

Not much point comparing the Lewis and Vitali outings as Briggs is shot as hell.

Vitali is certainly declining physically but he is only getting smarter in the way he handles opponents. In younger days he would have stopped Briggs but he has lost a bit of speed, power and timing. His control of range is so awkwardly effective though that he simply makes a mockery of these lesser opponents after taking away their will.

I couldn't believe the corner didn't stop it after the extremely brutal 10th round. Briggs definitely showed a lot of heart and wasn't there just to collect a check but Vitali should have wore Reyes gloves like he did prior to the comeback for the extra pop.

A younger Vitali would have went for the stoppage but he has to pace himself now being almost 40 years old. He took the 11th round off or he might have been able to force the stoppage if he let loose with everything in that round.

Why are many people saying Vitali power is declining? Sounds to me that many here are not giving Briggs credit for lasting the distance. Remember The last time Briggs was stopped was 12 years ago against Lewis. Briggs has shown he has a good underrated chin. It's funny that ever since Vitali return, many here is saying stuff like "Vitali is shot", Vitali is declining", Haye will destroyed Vitali cause Vitali is shot". <<<After all of that Vitali still wins by dominating. He came back to destroyed Peter. He then beat up the hell out of Gomez. He embarrass and beat up undefeated puncher in Arreola. He won in a shut out against fat undefeated Johnson who was scared to take a chance against Vitali. Vitali then beat up the hell out of Sos. And now Vitali beat up the loud mouth Briggs in another shut out (imo). But Yet Vitali is declining? A shot fighter? Like i said in another thread if Vitali is a shot fighter then damn he's the greatest shot heavyweight fighter of all times.

Briggs said Vitali is the best fighter he ever faced, better than and he directly mentioned "Lewis and Foreman." He said Vitali hits harder than both of them. Major props by Briggs for Vitali.

Briggs gave it every thing he had, great effort by the outgunned and inferior fighter. admirable effort. This fight was very interesting, Briggs landed some clean shots but they did not wobble the iron man Vitali.

This fight was a good show and should have been on HBO or SHowtime. You can't tell me last nights Tarver-Nagy fight or Arreola-Minto was more HBO / SHowtime worhty than this. HBO sucks and is anti Eastern European fighters. Pirog, Dzinziruk, etc, will we ever see them on HBO? Not likely.

So why didn't he go down?

  8. How sad is it that we cannot even break down positives and negatives in a fight/fighter without being branded as haters for not towing the line and saying Kaiser Klitchsko or similar.

Vitali dominated the fight against someone who was past it, never overly great to begin with, fairly ring rusty.

That the fight was sanctioned in the first place is a sad indictment of the state of the division.

I'm really hoping that Haye's plan was to make people realise that he is the only real fighter out there with a shot, not just a guy with a big mouth, by not fighting either one yet.

For the record - I'm not going to comment on the contract issues between the two - I've not seen them and unlike many others on this forum - I won't pretend I do, or subscribe that one is definitely telling the truth because they're my preferred/favourite fighter.

    Haye to KO Harrison early.

Fight with Vitali early next year.

Hopefully he wins then a fight with Wlad can be made mid next year or so - and make it probably the biggest HW fight in YEARS.

If Vitali vs Adamek is talk about fighting each other at the garden in 2011 then i hope Adamek wins his next fight in which his fight with Vitali is a reality. If it does happen i got Vitali by late tko in a brutal fashion.

  10. He's being gracious after the fight - and surely by saying that Vitali hits harder it stands Briggs in better stead as he went the full distance with the hardest puncher he's ever faced......

Briggs has always been a skilled, athletic man with good talent and the ability to do anything. His toughness, ability to roll with shots, and boxing skills brougt him to the 12th round, he's got a big heart.

With that said, Holyfield, even at his age, would have made more of an effort, and for a few rounds at least, land some good leather.

    Meaning?

It's disgusting. The ref should be beaten.

    Fat? :blood

    Yeah...

:rofl:rofl:lol: It came true! ...Oh, my vCash. :|

I missed any part where he looked at all hurt or even slightly annoyed until he realized he didn't get the knockout.

Have you absolutely never watched Vitali fight before ever?

The first time anyone has ever said that. ...What?

I don't believe it at all but I assume he was just being nice and praising his tormentor.

    I got hysterical, BG.

Yes, Shannon the no-shell turtle Briggs has a nice ring to it.

But they won't fight him. :-(

Vitali could not KO a flat-footed standing target. Adamek is not Briggs.
