But if featherfisted Vargas can make "iron chin" Bradley a zombie, it's "a powerful punch can stun anyone", uh? atsch
All these dopes also think Fury is going to make the build up with his trash talking. Wlad will make him look stupid in that department as well. Wlad does not directly talk trash but is very clever and will prove to mentally agile for dummy Fury. Then Fury's real problems will start when the opening bell rings.
This has Sky PPV written all over it. Gaye- Wlad was a Sky PPV, and that was a stinkfest thanks to Gaye being a shi* stain as usual, This fight is guaranteed to be better than that, by a long way. At least Fury will come to fight, Fury is a fighting man. He could also talk for England and Ireland put together. There is the unknown of Wlad's chin of course, untested for years, and Fury has the recklessness and belief to get close to it...and possibly crack it.
ITV reaches the most people because it is terrestrial TV. SKY and BT are Cable/Satellite so will pay the most money. This fight will do big business on PPV. ITV is our second most watched channel behind BBC One. It is our channel 3: BBC One BBC Two ITV Channel Four Channel Five Fury's promoter Hennessy already has shows on Channel Five. Lee Haskins was on a few week ago and Lenny Daws and Hughie Fury are on Channel Five in two weeks. Carl Frampton's next fight is on ITV All the big fights in the 90s used to be on ITV. Benn v Eubank, Benn v McClellan, Eubank v Watson. Calzage v lacy, Calzaghe v Bika and Foch v Pascal were also on ITV
I cannot stand Fury, I am hard pressed to think of a less talented fighter in recent years. He has not shown me anything that I would consider worthy of ranking him in a position for a title match. I am thinking he may go the route of Pulev, duration wise. He has a similar level of finesse (i.e. no finesse) and stands up nice and straight. The fact that he was able to avoid Chisora's shots should not be taken as an indicator as to how he will do against Wlad's. Chisora was trying to close distance, and he was hella short compared to Fury, Wlad not so much, and better by a factor of about 1 million. Being tall/big is no advantage if you suck. And from what I have seen, Fury sucks, hard. Fury has never been hit by someone even close to Klitschko's power, even Wlad's jabs are going to send this guy to la la land. Fury's switching from orthodox to southpaw is more a testimony to his complete ineptitude in either stance, rather than some Hagler like ability to fight from both seamlessly. If he actually is stupid enough to turn southpaw against Wlad, I would imagine he will eat a very hard right hand lead and find himself waking up several hours later. People feel Wlad's weak chin always gives a puncher a chance, but Fury is not a puncher, he is more of a mauler/stumbler. And his mauling is generally performed against significantly smaller men. The one chance Fury had to fight a guy his own size/larger against Ustinov, he ****ped himself and bailed. And Ustinov sucks. Wladimir will be in his usual rock solid shape, and he is anything but weak. He will not be pushed around the ring by Fury, despite the height difference. In shape, Fury is going to be lighter than Wlad, and either in his bovine form, or in shape, he is much slower. I can't stand the Klitschko style, and I can't wait for his era to end, but this is not going to be the guy to do it.
It depends if they need/want money or exposure. Although the set up is very complicated. ITV will most likely offer a very small rights fee. Bu huge exposure. SKY have an exclusive deal with Matchroom's Eddie Hearn. So any promoter wanting SKY must do a deal with him. Fury's promoter hates Eddie Hearn. BT are very new. They don't offer PPV but have a lot of money. They could offer a huge licence fee. Or introduce PPV for the first time.
Exciting times for boxing really, put that way. I wish BT would establish some boxing, they could become a decent force, especially with their free to air channel having some champions league games. And great ITV are back in the mix.
