Pulev didn't earn anywhere near 5 million for Wlad. The purse bid was $7.25 million and Pulev got a 20% split after Wlad reduced Pulev share from the usual 25% probably because Pulev brought nothing in terms of money to the fight. So Pulev only got $1.45 million. So if what Hearn said is true and he offered Pulev 3 career high payday offers we can assume they were all above $1.45 million.

While Joshua is a big draw he isn't really any bigger than Wlad in terms of what he makes so if Hearn is offering him record paydays even with a 25% split Pulev isn't going to make much more that what was already offered. Either Pulev has overestimated what a 25% split will bring him or he doesn't want the fight. As you say if he is set for life money is going to be a motivating fact for taking the fight, so maybe he's just not up for getting knocked out again.

    IDK who wins this fight.
At this point, Pulev is a tougher out than Wlad because his chin has been shown to be better than Wlad's throughout his career.
His jab is </= Wlad's and has middling power where Wlad holds the significant advantage.
Footwork is Pulevs edge over both Wlad and Joshua, as is defense, minus Wlad's ability to tie up.

As Ive said in my previous posts irt the bigger payday.....

It never had anything to do with money, but everything to do with time and the FACT that Pulev was treating his fanbase to a local fight vs a big name former champion.

If Pulev was smart, he'd try to get himself onto that undercard vs Ortiz.
It would expose Ortiz as a fraud, get Pulev a solid W, and mandate that neither fighter could slither out of.

At the same time, he'd be keeping busy, earning a solid buck, and creating buzz for the fall fight with the winner.

sauerland said something to the effect of they would rather the fight be a mandatory and go to purse bids than take the december fight for there reason of turning down a joshua fight.

Sauerland will never risk Pulev against Ortiz. He said that Pulev would fight in April in Bulgaria for the second time in a row. My educated guess is that his opponent will be someone cheap. It is all about money with Sauerlands and Pulev. They are trying to make as much money from Pulev as they could. That's why they turned down the December 10 fight offer.

The logic dictates to take the fight as soon as possible since Joshua is still developing and Pulev is getting older. Delaying the fight with an year helps Pulev only financially but reduces his chances in the ring.

Any reason why Wlad/Pulev was IBF only, not for all of the belts that Wlad had? Besides, fair or not, the belt organizations have the power to force fights. Pulev on his own would not step to AJ, Wilder or Wlad unless forced to. Of those in the top 8 he's the most beatable pick. His hometown event was impressive since if they can fill arenas locally that's a leg up on the competition.
I see folks trying to spin this with an agenda but I don't think Pulev beats anybody in the top 5. If AJ gets passed Wlad then Pulev no problem.

It was all about money. Sauerlands did not have faith in Pulev so they paid fees only to IBF.

Pulev would fight anyone. He is not great but he could beat some of the top 10 fighters.

Yes, his hometown event was very impressive especially the bagpipers and his ethnic clothing. It is hard to forget the bagpipers and the ethnic Bulgarian sounds. Bulgarian bagpipe has a unique sound. I hope for his April event he asks 'The 100 kaba bagpipes' to accompany him to the ring.

Who did Kubrat ever beat in his career who wasn't a bum? Wait nobody. So he is basically the typical European heavyweight. Fight tons of nobody, has a cute record and Europeans act like it is the greatest thing ever. Kubrat would never fight Ortiz because he knows he will be knocked out, no matter how overrated Ortiz may be at the moment.

I'd disagree about Pulev's footwork, he has terrible movement. He's not a plodder but he isn't fleet of foot at all. Wlad showed better footwork in their fight. Wlad adjusted to being out jabbed against Pulev by dancing on the outside, out of range of Pulev's jab and then leaping in with the left hook and because Pulev has such poor movement he wasn't able to get out of the way when Wlad jumped in.

You only have to see Pulev's fights with Chisora and Arias to see how poor his movement is. He was forced to hold on so much because he couldn't maintain distance and keep them at the end of his jab.

If Pulev is smart he should avoid Ortiz. Ortiz struggles with movement and Pulev has almost none. He'll struggle to establish his jab with Ortiz being a southpaw as the southpaw lead right hand will be in the way and Ortiz is pretty adept and picking off an orthodox fighters jab with his lead right, just see his fight with Monte Barrett to see him take away a orthodox fighters jab.

Lol right because you say so right? But he does have a better resume than bigger bum Anthony Joshua and any idiot who brings Wilder into a top that has nothing to do about him also gets blocked by me. Man you are the 4th person today.
