It was this time last year that the WBA paper champ Haye, signed to fight Audley Harrison, who Mormeck would KO when he is 60.

For goodness sake......Watch some of Liston's old fights. Watch some of Pattersons, Ali's early defenses etc etc etc. watch the ****ing sport instead of dreaming about those great fighters of yesteryear.

I was a Holmes fan from the first time I saw him in like 78-79, and when Tyson beat him I thought Ali would mash Tyson, Liston would mash him, Foreman would mash him, Frazier would mash him, Louis would mash him, Marciano would mash him etc etc etc.......

I was just pissed that my man the EASTON ASSASIN was beat so I made excuse after excuse after excuse. Fat, outta prime, injured etc etc etc.

Now, with the internet, and dvd recorders......man, we can watch all those fighters from yesteryear and see clearly that while they had heart for days, they'd be walked over by the worthless Maskaevs of the late 90's. The Jason Gaverns and Malcom Tanns and tyson Furys would be dominant champs of the 30-60s.

It really wasnt until the end of the vietnam war that boxing became a fulltime career for all serious contenders. Once the 80s rolled around with Tyson getting 13-20 mil a fight, the talent levels just soared because people saw it as a future, a life. Of course, once that happened......let's just say that in 20 yrs if the world is still here that the Lewis's and the Klitschkos might just look amatuerish.

I essentially agree with what you are saying. We ahve seen worse challengers. Mormeck as a champiohship pedigree and gave hell to Haye. Also, he has actaully earned a shot beating some fringe contener types.

It is just going to look bad is all- Wladdy pounding on an undersized and aging guy like Mormeck.
