Can it be as good as the first?

    No.

It will be very cautious on AJs part, Very.

Wlad goes in from the start and finishes this within six.

Unlikely but you never know. They say every old fighter has one last performance in him and I feel Wlad gave that in the first fight.
Joshua can only improve, chances are he gets him out there inside 4 rounds.

the 1st wasn't as great as people make out imo. Rd 5 was good, so was round 6 and 11 and thats it. the rest was relatively dull. and i was there so i'd have thought i'd be swayed by how mental it was in the stadium but to me it wasnt "one of the best fights on british soil or the best heavyweight fight in decades" as our newspapers proclaimed the next day. it wasnt even the best HW fight of the year, Breazeale/Ugonoh was better for me

Breazeale v ugonoh had no where near the skill level of wlad v AJ. It was a great fight to watch imo....Papers got it right !

I thought it was one of the best heavyweight fights for a long time. It was intense and edge of the seat stuff after what happened in rounds 5 & 6. There was real suspense until the 11th because everybody was waiting on Wlad to pull the trigger and finish AJ off, but somehow he didn't manage. AJ came alive again after his body shut down for 4 rounds and he got the job done. It was pretty dramatic stuff, enjoyable.

The whole thing from beginning to end was an amazing spectacle to me. Been watchin long time. Never saw anything like that. Thought it was great. Joshua is very exciting, being a roid monster that gasses with a glass chin. Makes for some good fights in the future.

He might not meet his match until Deontay's big right lands.

i agree the skill level was A LOT higher, no comparison there, i just meant in terms of entertainment.

yeah but is that in relative terms or of its own accord? i dont deny there was suspense, i was there, the uncertainty and excitement for what came next was palpable, but it took like 5/6 rounds for that excitement to come to fruition in the ring. i was on the edge of my seat for May/Pac for the same reasons, that just never materialised, the period in between was suspenseful just coz people were waiting for something like round 11 to happen, not because of the action in the ring. i should end this by saying im not claiming it was a bad fight in the slightest, it cllearly wasn't, i just think its been hyperbolised a bit

Yeah I totally see your point. If we were all to watch the fight back now after having seen it live we would probably all agree that there was a lack of quality from rounds 7- midway through the 11th. Joshua looked lost in there and Wlad was inaccurate with his punches and should have got the job done! Also that rounds rounds 1-4 were boring. However as a spectacle as whole, it was a fight that produced the goods.

I think Wlad will have learned from the first more than AJ and will start off much more strongly.

That said, Joshua found ways to land on Klitschko and managed to shake him up. And Wlad is older.

I also question whether the desire to win is as strong in Wlad as it was in #1.

The first fight I favoured Wlad to win.

This time I think I give the edge to AJ.

Deontay will be blown out way before he lands his Hail Mary punch on Joshua.

Everyone he's ever fought has landed on him in the early running and when Joshua does Deontay is taking a nap.

Agreed. I think the first fight was Wlads last stand...I cant see how he improves for the rematch in his early 40's now

Far as I can see, Wlad still hasn't actually accepted the fight so I'm not sure it happens

Either way, Wlad can only have got slower since then. I called Wlad in the first fight and was nearly right, AJ would have learned a LOT from that fight. I'd back him with some scary moments.

Also, I'm gunna go out on a limb and say AJ has shown he isn't pure glass. He might not quite have an iron chin but I think glass is harsh.

Its not happening. All this is a ploy to bait Wlad out of his clam shell to announce his retirement.

This guy is a narcissist and just can't let go. Even in retirement he's a hindrance on the division.

Getting ran out of the sport with two losses was a fitting end to his shameful career. :rambo1:
