Klitschko vs Usyk..

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Red Revolution, Aug 15, 2015.

  1. Imagine this?! I know CW is stacked & he has yet to really get going at that weight but i think he's the goods! The most naturally talented CW today versus the best HW of his era! Klitschko isn't getting any younger & the ultra talented Usyk could easily make HW... Unlikely I know but Usyk is already talking with real ambition (he wants Holyfields CW record) so maybe one day he will consider a jump to heavy too..

    Two Ukrainian Olympic Gold medallists...

In fact thinking about it, Usyk at HW is actually quite salivating... Povetkin, Glaskov, Joshua etc

I think he's going to be a great fighter ;)

I think Usyk is getting overhyped here in all honesty. I think he's a very skilled fighter but people talk about what he'll do quite prematurely.

He's getting underhyped, he's a better prospect than Beterbiev. As for him moving up, I don't think we'll see that until Wlad retires.

Beterbiev easily demolished two former world champs to earn his hype, Usyk on the other hand has outboxed a couple of journeymen.

  5. I watched Huck last night.. Usyk would have taken that belt with ease! Confident of it..

It's the whole point of boxing & a discussion forum isn't it?! To discuss & to promote the fighter's you believe in...

    CW Lomachenko ;)

I'm not saying Beterbiev doesn't deserve his hype, just saying Usyk is a better fighter than him.

I just don't get this paramount confidence people have in him, I think he'll do well but I don't go saying it like that's already a done deal and he's 100% guaranteed to become this great fighter, anything can happen in boxing.

I think we need to see him in against some better opposition before we can say he'll do this or that against the champions in the division or even an ATG like Klitschko.

Why has it taken him two years to beat 7 bums:huh

If he was as good as people claim , he would have went through that record in under 10 months.

    Two years:rofl

  9. OK fair enough but from what you see of his ability how do you see him doing against the likes of Lebedev, Chak, Drozd etc now?

Usyk is good, but saying that he could defeat Wlad is just silly.

By the time Usyk gets to HW, Wlad will have retired.

No one Usyks size is giving Wlad problems

Honestly, personally I'm not ready to make those comparisons yet, I want to see him get tested first against even a slightly familiar name.

Skills-wise, he does look really great, but there are many more intangibles in the pro game, and that's when you find out how good a fighter really is, when he has those tested.

I do think that he still has some of those amateur habits lingering and I always thought Loma is the more talented fighter.

It's not particularly his pro-fights that excites me, It's his WSB performance in which he beat big HWs without losing a round, without headgear. And if you watch his fight with Medhzidov who's the toughest HW in the ams, you'll see there was absouletly no way Medhzidov would've been able to go 12 with him.

  13. I was thinking more a seriously ageing Wlad.. I don't think he'd beat him but I wanted other peoples thought's on the subject & how good they think Usyk is!

He's 6'3" BTW & I don't think size is the key to beat a slowing Wladimir Klitschko anyway..

I think he's going to be an exceptional fighter ;)

Usyk is overrated... sure he has a great amateur career, but this is the pros now. Total different ball game.

I'm not saying he's bad, no no... but it's too soon to say he is "great"

    How about Usyk vs Joshua?
That's probably going to be a big fight in a few years.
