Klitschko win against Joshua, bigger win the Ali vs Foreman?

I think Foreman was an even hotter favourite than Joshua, so not quite the same. If Wlad knocks out Joshua, however,
he goes clear top 5 atg.

 

Not even remotely close. Joshua is an 18 novice who's fought nobody, most picking him to win are just doing so on the basis of Wlad being a shot old man. Foreman at the time was already being regarded as one the best HWs ever after savage KO wins over Frazier and Norton.

 

The worry at that time wasn't if Ali would win, it was how badly Foreman would hurt him in the ring. Foreman had destroyed the previous champ Frazier. Joshua or Klitschko for that matter have no such opponent on their record.

 

That victory won't ever reach the magnitude of Ali beating Foreman. Joshua is not a champion nor is he a lineal champion. It's a good fight for Wlad who can redeem himself a bit with a good win. It's a good fight for Joshua to let the old man know that he's done. It's a great fight for boxing.

 

How many people watched Ali vs Foreman? I think it was 100s of millions? Wlad vs. AJ would be happy to reach 20% of that.

Oh yeah, that fight was a global phenomenon and garnered attention from every nation across the world. The Joshua-klitschko event would never fill those shoes.

Absolutely not. You'd have to have Joshua absolutely demolish Fury going into this fight to even begin to make the comparison without insulting the original bout.
