quotes from the setanta website : David Haye has confirmed he has a three-fight deal with the Klitschkos after finally signing a contract to take on Wladimir Klitschko on June 20, live on Setanta Sports. The Londoner has had to make a major sacrifice by agreeing to take the unusual step of signing away his next three contests, if he does cause a shock by winning the heavyweight title fight. Haye has revealed that it was the only way he could secure a title shot with Wladimir, with WBC champion Vitali waiting in the wings further down the line. "I've got to fight three Klitschkos," he exclusively told Setanta. "Maybe they've got an uncle who does a bit of boxing and their Dad did a bit back in the day! "So three Klitschkos in whatever order they choose. "You should've seen what they tried to make me agree to before. That was a massive compromise as it was a joke what they were trying to make me agree. "If you think that's ridiculous, you would crack up at what they wanted me to sign before. It clearly showed me the mentality of the Klitschkos and how much wusses they are. They're not real champions - they try to manufacture things and are not warriors. "They don't believe they are the best out there. If they thought they'd beat me then why make me sign these stupid contracts? That was a deal breaker. If I didn't sign it, the fight wouldn't be happening. "You've got to bend sometimes and I did, right at the end of the day. "One I knock Wladimir out, he won't want to go near me in a million years and Vitali, once I knock him out, and it's going to take a lot to knock him out, that's it, he's finished. "So I don't think I'll have a third fight unless they wheel out one of the uncles. "It's a joke. It was like a hidden camera show. I've never heard of it in boxing history but if it's the only way these chumps will get in a ring with me, it's what I've got to do." Haye explained that Alexander Povetkin will have to wait some time before having any chance to meet him in the ring. "Any rematch with Wladimir would possibly be six months later," he explained. "Then after that, I'd fight Vitali after another six months. After that, in the middle of next year, I'll finish this current contract I'm under so, if Povetkin is still in a good position then, he'd be at the top of the list of fighters I'll be looking to fight."
i thought ill paste this into this thread aswel because i kust finished work wlad is shitting himself they realy see haye as the biggest threat to them simple no nutsucking from klit-ites they see him as the most dangerous guy they are going to face that is why the contract is the way it is, even after weeks and weeks of re-drafting so i dont want to here no crap from klit-ites because that is all it will be crap
thats normal for a promoter, just good business...Don King has been doing it for years...just because the Klitschko's are good fighters does not mean they have to be stupid promoter...they control heavyweight boxing now, they may as well control it WELL
I wonder what the contract was like before if this was the best option after two months of negotiating. As usual the Klitites will be coming on here spouting there usual crap. Its funny because CHEF never mentioned these sort of clauses when he was calling Haye a ***** only looking fo a payday
i think every fchampion should do it, it will be great if you beat me, you have to fight me again and then if you beat me again then you have to fight my friend/brother this could realy help boxing grow guys the klitchko's are the smartest promoter's in the history of this fine sport
as far as i know this type of contract is illegal in america and don king could no longer get away with it .
they are basically **** scared of losing to a cruiserweight. they've tried to corner haye into refusing this fight with ridiculous demands.
IMO haye only has a 20% punchers chance, but to get this chance he has had to jump through hoops and get ****ed financially and if he does win a belt he will have to vacate it if ABC`s enforce mandatorys which they will and then fight for no belt on a rematch.
Are contrats involving more than one rematch even legal in the U.S? This seems absurd and very harmful to boxing in general.
No- this is what David Haye ACCEPTED, not what he wanted. He accepted signing over control over his career for three fights in return for a shot at a titlist: something I remember Wlad and Vitali refusing to do when it came to fighting Don King boxers.
